It is also grown by certified scientists who have made it safe for the patient for medical use only not for recreational. Another benefit of legalizing medical marijuana is that it will provide jobs and help to boost our economy. Medical Marijuana should be legalized in the United States because it is scientifically proven to help treat numerous diseases, it is prescribed by a doctor and will be safe for the patients, and it will decrease the job unemployment in our country and boost economy through taxes. Marijuana has been proven to treat numerous diseases and help cope with the pain from them. There is scientific research behind Medical Marijuana being able to treat these diseases. Research shows that it is effective managing and treating certain symptoms and diseases. It is legal in some states in the U.S. and has been helpful to many patients with their struggles related to their condition. A doctor who supports the use of medical marijuana stated that "The evidence is overwhelming that marijuana can relieve certain types of pain, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms caused by such illnesses such as multiple sclerosis, cancer and AIDS -- or by the harsh drugs sometimes used to treat them. In Arizona the first year it was legalized they had 1,500 direct jobs opened up and 5,000 indirect jobs. Colorado brought in a lot of money and paid 5.5 million dollars to their state tax. There are hundreds of thousands of people out there who could use jobs and it will decrease our unemployment rate. Medical marijuana will create jobs for the U.S., boost our economy, and make our country stronger economically.
