1 Me and my best friend Annie really wanted to go to the music festival Lollapalooza. In the summer of 2016 we saved money and convinced her dad to take us to Chicago. We could only pick one day, Annie and I picked Thursday because it was the day that had our favorite singers. Lana Del Rey, G Eazy, J Cole, The 1975, City and Color where just a few that came that Thursday. 2 Annie and I made a plan to get up are 5:00 AM to get ready, 6:00 AM eat. Then by 7 we would stand in a line until 11 that's when the doors would open. There where multiple entrances to the park, we picked to stand in the line closest to the main stage where we would spend our whole day from 11AM till 10PM. We knew If we stayed at the main stage all day we would be able to be close to the front and seem muliple great singers and throughout the day. I stood in the same spot for eleven hours. I had no food and could not even leave to pee because I would lose my spot. At one point when we where only a couple hours in I was standing on my sandals and the crowd shifts, I lost my shoes. The ground was wood chips, and there was can, trash and bottles everywhere since there wasn't trash cans in the pit. So that's what I stood on. It was 90 degrees outside and rained 3 times. I was so crammed in the crowd that I never had enough room to sit. Then as it got later in the day it got more and more crammed. There were so many people that at one point during the concert when Lana came down to the crowd, I was standing on a some huge water bottle so I could see better from the second row. When I tried to get off the water bottle but my feet dangled in the air because I was so smashed up against people that they where holding me up. On my side of the stage seven people fainted and the security guards had to pull them out and of the crowd and put them on
I have recently examined my latest patient, on OCtober 23 at 10:45 A.M. The patient has been accused with the murder of the old man. The patient admits to what he has done but his beliefs make him think that he is completely sane and not mad. “The disease had sharpened my senses-not destroyed-not dulled them”(Poe 203).

It goes on every year. Two million (and more) go to it each year. People go to it to see/meet their favorite people. Not just for bands. Bands, Interviewers, photographers, etc.
The night was young times were crazy and it was only the beginning of my senior year. It was still warm out and it still felt like summer; we didn’t know that we could have this much fun in one night, but we knew we were going to have fun no matter what. My first concert had to be one of the best nights of my life and one of my most favorite nights of my life during my senior year. The Glass Castle is a book about the childhood and adolescence of Jeannette Wells, the daughter of Rex and Rose Mary Walls. Throughout her childhood, she moved all over the country with her family, moving from one town to the next, often lacking food and good clothes, and living in a state of perpetual poverty. Have you ever felt stuck? Wherever you are, it’s the absolute last place you want to be. In the book Into the Wild, Chris McCandless feels stuck just like the average everyday person may feel. Chris finds his escape plan to the situation and feels he will free himself by going off to the wild. I agree with the author that Chris McCandless wasn’t a crazy person, a sociopath, or an outcast because he got along with many people very well, but he did seem somewhat incompetent, even though he survived for quite some time.
Once I let my thoughts return to the music, I knew what lie ahead of me. I tapped the nearest "big guy" on the shoulder and pointed towards the ceiling; the universal signal on the concert floor. He nodded, grabbed my foot, and pushed me on top of the crowd. Once I was up there was no turning back. Soon strong hands were surfing me towards the stage. I had the best view in the house and reveled in the moment. I was fueled by an adrenaline rush that was only heightened by the fusion of the music and the energy of the crowd.

As the dark stadium filled with fire, with the sounds of guns and bombs exploding everywhere, the crazed fans yelled at the top of their lungs. The enormous stage was rumbling with the sound of a single guitar as the band slowly started their next encore performance. Soon after I realized that I was actually at the Sanitarium concert listening to Metallica play "One", I thought to my self, "Is this real, am I actually here right now?" I had a weird feeling the entire time because I had worked all summer to simply listen to music with a bunch of strangers.
After 15 minutes people were starting to get frustrated because nothing was happening. It is a good thing. Suddenly there was activity onstage and the lights dimmed. the first support band, Slam Cartel, came on. The mosh pit went wild.

I had never really been to a big concert that had a well-known band. A couple of weeks before the concert I got some information about it, but really didn't think much of it. I talked with some friends about the band and we all casually decided to go get tickets for it. Little did I know what an absolutely spectacular time I would have.
Then audience members who were perfect strangers who were screaming loudest would turn to each other with knowing glances and smile because they were sharing the same excitement and connecting with one another over their love of this man’s music. There was no pushing or shoving to get closer to the stage – it wasn’t that kind of crowd. Instead, there was mutual respect for one another’s space within the confines of the too-small venue. Nobody wanted to be the person who ruined it for someone else. It was this respect that made the audience members’ connections with one another that much stronger – we were all here to listen to this wonderful man’s music and see his performance – and, of course, we were here to enjoy it.
