Bad Idea On June 13, 2015 governor Greg Abitt, signed the S.B. 11 (carry on campus). On August 1, 2016 was the first day for students to take their concealed weapon onto a four year university. Community college students will be able to take theirs on August 1, 2017. This has caused protests on campuses around Texas. Guns on campus is a bad idea, we have student who have anger issues, most aren't even close enough to be mature, and it would make a scenario worse. Students always have a reason to get mad at any little thing from a simple argument with a classmate and to a bad grade on a test. So what if they had a gun at those exact moments. For one instance professors in Austin started to get scared about the new gun law that allowed students to conceal. Some professors actually resigned, and moved to other colleges. Due to being scared of a student who might just get mad at grade and end up shooting the professor. So some professors what to ban guns from their offices (Fox 1). Not only do professors see it as their office. Mr. Henry wants to have a gun free zone In his office. He sees his office like his house that belongs to him. The FBI shows that all the school shootings that happened throughout these years. The FBI says if the gun law passed before all these tragic massacres happened that no one who had a concealed weapon would step in and stop it (Fox 2). If a student would step in it would be hard for police to figure out who is the guy and who is the bad guy.Police are scared that when someone who actually steps in and tries to stop the active shooter or has the shooter at gun point.
