Is God real is a question that has been asked for many years. This is controversial topic that is discussed daily. Whether you are religious or do not believe that there is a higher power at all is simply up to you. However, I do believe that God is real. Philosophers such as Paley, Hume, Hegel, and Kant have played the central role of development of philosophy of religion. Late medieval to early modern time philosophers had dabbled with the concept of God. A lot of these philosophers used human reason to figure out God. These philosophers all support the claim that God is in fact real for there own moral reasoning. Nonetheless, most of their reasonings are true as far as Earth’s creation. As a believer, our most basic religious belief is …show more content…
There are unexplainable things on Earth and scientist are still trying to figure these things out. In spite of that, some people still want to believe that these things were just here before us. Moreover, if these things were just here we as a human race, being the smartest species should have already figured everything out, but we have yet to complete the task of figuring the world out. Furthermore, there are large amounts of the world that have not even been discovered. Everything has an origin in this world. Scientist say everything was made from bacteria of some sort considering they were supposedly the first living organism on Earth. It makes little to no sense at all to say then entire world derived from bacteria. Moreover, others may say we evolved from evolution which bacteria could have initially been apart of, but there are things and features of the Earth that even evolution cannot take credit for. Paley argued, “The universe exhibits the same order, complexity, and purpose and so it can be seen to have been produced by a Creator” (Paley, 60). There is no protest to this argument, he is absolutely
““Well, they had a point. You are fat and disgusting!” The therapist announced. Patricia was sobbing, eyes red and nose runny...“Come on… Let’s go. We aren’t putting up with that!” her father...opened the door and ushered the family through. The therapist just observed and no more was heard from him…[Her nervous breakdown] was a result of long term bullying leading to an episode of being run out of school by a gang of boys. They threatened to kill her with a crowbar, sticks and wooden planks. She felt like a hunted fox” (shazwellyn.hubpages.com). No matter how hard a parent might try to help their child, whether they’re being bullied or are the bully, the consequences should not fall on the people who raise them because the victims have to do what they can to make up for what they’ve done or what they’ve suffered. The city of Monona, Wisconsin has proposed a new law that tickets and fines the parents for failing to respond properly to their child’s poor behavior. A behavioral and personal change consulting specialist, Mr. Michael Harmann, hypothesized that bullying behavior is typically an effort to cover up the bully's own vulnerability. It's a primitive mindset that wants to make you pay when you show vulnerability and since bullying mostly occurs under the legal age, that’s enough to say that higher levels of authority don’t have control over the thoughts and actions that bullies use as an outlet for their own pain because it goes against the Constitution. The key to helping the children we feel so sorry for is to heal the bully before he turns into a monster and the only way to help the perpetrator is to make him face his motivation to bully. “If you think about it, a great strategy to avoid being rejected is to reject everyon...
Proper Theology looks at the different aspects of God, one major thing is proof of his existence. I see in lots of people looking for answers asking the question “is God real?”. I believe he is but others maybe not so much. I rely on faith when others rely on science to prove existence.
The epic poem, Beowulf, a work of fiction, offers more insight into Ancient Anglo-Saxon English culture than the work of Bede, who wrote, A History of the English Church and People. The epic poem Beowulf gives an enhanced illustration and clearer understanding of the culture of the Ancient Anglo-Saxon’s. The epic poem gives the audience a picture of what the Ancient Anglo-Saxon English valued; seafaring, warriors, heroes, and paganism.
God is not real and does not exist. There many reasons why god cannot exist. Many people believe that God does exist but those are just beliefs, there is no real evidence that God exists. People try to prove that god exists with the Bible; however we don’t now that the bible is the truth. In many ways, people believe that God is a person, but science has proven that there is a particle that must’ve created everything. This particle is known as the God particle. Although science has proven that some form of God created everything, the Christian churches and Muslim religion refuse to accept this as fact.
The point and purpose was to promote the great nation of the United States, and
Every person has wondered about something - whether it be a person, place, thing, law, or anything that someone can think about. They ask questions both rhetorical and actual to themselves, and usually make it a mission to answer these questions. Some of the biggest questions have something to do with culture and religion. One of the most major questions of all time - to what extent does an individual have control over the outcome of his or her life? There are many different opinions on this topic.
The factual nature of God (given that He exists as the First Cause) is at all times argued by most Christians. Moreover numerous questions arise on the nature of God. We all know that, at some point we will actually die; yet, we consistently refuse the causes operating within ourselves that looks into the real result of what comes after a person loses his or her life. It is far simpler for humankind to agree that, they will depart to a secure home in Heaven and will be pardoned all their sins by a supreme being, rather than to query on the existence of the extremely all-powerful being. Luckily, some of us usually query this existence and the development of humankind; in addition to, the spiritual lessons obtained from our mothers and fathers, community and religion. This essay investigates the two logical justifications for and against the nature of God; in accordance to opinions of some exceptional researchers and philosophers. Through two classical arguments for God; the ontological argument and the teleological argument, I will show that there is no adequate evidence or extensive justifications for the true nature of God.
What makes a good person good? According to WikiHow, "We should learn to define our own morals ourselves. One of the simplest ways to do so is to love others, and treat them as you would like to be treated. Try to think of others before yourself. Even doing small things daily will greatly enrich and improve your life, and the lives of others around you." This quote shows us what we need to do in order to be what society thinks as, “good". In order to be a good person, you have to do good and moral things in your society consistently. However people might think that by doing one good thing once in a while will automatically make you a “good person”, but in reality it doesn’t.
God can be defined as a being conceived as the perfect, omnipotent, omniscient originator and ruler of the universe, the principal object of faith and worship in monotheistic religions (1). There are many people that do not believe in any religion. People who do not believe in a religion have no reason for believing in a God. People who do not believe in a God and argue against the existence of God are proving something that is completely false. There is a God for numerous reasons.
One of the most common misconceptions about atheism is that it is determined by a personal belief. People mistakenly attribute a position founded in theological knowledge to be a product of ‘believing’ something, which would be entirely contradictory. In order to clear up the misunderstanding, you have to fully understand atheism at its core. We must also have a sober understanding of the things that distinguish atheism from the other two theological positions: theism and agnosticism. Once we make clear exactly how the three theological positions are mutually exclusive, we will be much more properly equipped to form a full and correct definition of atheism.
I was unsure of what Faith and Reason were; I say that, because Faith and Reason seem to have the illusion of spiritual meanings and concepts, thus I could not accept the idea that a course of this nature would be taught in college. For me Faith and Reason express a person’s ideals, beliefs and theories on life. According to Webster’s Dictionary, faith and reason are defined as; faith being a belief and trust in and loyalty to God; fanciful or empty assumption. The images that we have come to express are not far from what the rest of the world has expressed or defined. As you continue to read my theories and ideas on the issue of Faith and Reason, you may come to understand the type of person that I am, and possibly understand how and why I believe as I do.
Many sources define faith as a belief in something not based upon proof, an intangible trust that a person holds close to their heart despite inconclusive evidence. This notion of faith depicts both ones wishes that their favorite sports team will win a match tomorrow and a hope that they will return safely from distant travels. Many also use this same term – “Faith” – to describe an individual’s given religious beliefs. This notion of religious faith infers that faith in God is something exclusively spiritual and nonconcrete – a belief only supported by inexplicable ideas as opposed to facts and evidence. Yet, as one begins to examine faith further, they come to realize that faith reaches far beyond an individual’s spiritual experience. Although many classify faith as intangible and lacking in proof, religious faith is in fact a concrete reality of life that displays the emotional, physical, and experiential aspects of the human soul. In Proverbs 3: 1-12, the author exemplifies how the emotional, physical, and experiential aspects of faith should play out regularly in everyday life.
The existence of God is a very fundamental topic on which many philosophers have argued and till date there is no physical proof of His existence. At some point or the other of our life, we all ask the question, does God exist? The answer to this changes our way of living, our thinking and how we understand or interpret the world. If one answers a yes then they live for a purpose and hope for eternity, while others create their purpose on planet earth and understand death as their final end.
Religion should not make people feel as if they are forced to live a certain way, but it should be used as a way of thinking/deciding between right and wrong. No one is perfect and no one knows everything. That is why with religion, we are able to understand more than what is known. How does religion, work? “Starting with magic and religion, which views the world simply as an extension of the human mind, we eventually reach the age of science, in which we view the world as being ruled by universal laws” (Grey 1). This explains how and why science can easily replace religion. Religion for many people is a great support system for the disadvantaged, especially for those who are going through a lot in life. Not only that, but when people are
Just about every individual wonders if the universe was created and how it was created. The Bible begins with the words, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” There are many people in the world who do not believe that statement. It has been 150 years since Charles Darwin published his theory and challenged the whole world what they believed. This argument is still one of the biggest controversial issues around the world. This issue separates political groups, religions, and even many schools. This is such an argument because there is no absolutely proven answer. Although there are several ideas, people mainly argue over two of them. Creationism and Evolution are the most controversial in today’s society. Both Evolutionists
