Argumentative Paper In today’s world, there is an abundance of social problems relating to those from the novel Fahrenheit 451. In Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, the protagonist Montag exhibits drastic character development throughout the course of the novel. Montag lives in a world where books are banned from society and no one is able to read them. Furthermore, Montag has to find a way to survive and not be like the rest of society. This society that Montag lives has became so use to how they live that it has affected them in many ways. Bradbury’s purpose of Fahrenheit 451 was to leave a powerful message for readers today to see how our world and the novel’s world connect through texting while driving, censorship and addiction. This similarity that is shown in both worlds is addiction. In Fahrenheit 451, Montag asks Mildred,"Will you turn the parlour off?" he asked. "That's my family” Mildred replied. In this society, people have became so addicted to technology that it has become apart of them. This connects to our world by how children, even adults are addicted with their technology and zone themselves out of their social life. Furthermore, in the article, ” Half of teens 'feel addicted' to tech. What's to be done?” states that,” 72 percent of teens and 48 percent of parents have surveyed felt they had to respond to messages or notification, and finally there are setting a boundary were children put their phone away so there are no on their phone during dinner.” This shows how our world has become addicted with technology and spend most of their time on it.
