College is place where some describe it as being the best time of their life, while others describe it as being one of the most strenuous points of their life. Books plus room and board are just a few of the various expenses a college student must face. But the most important and expensive is college tuition. A countless amount of these prices are so high the average person, especially a college student, can’t afford it. For the following four reasons, college tuition should be free. It’s too expensive, students need to focus on their studies more, everyone should be able to receive an education, and students will not be burdened with student loans in the future.

The people who manage to bustle through are left in thousands of dollars of debt. Rudy H. Fichtenbaum in the American Association of University professors “Tuition-free public higher education should expand access to high education as well as reduce the burden of debt on a new generation of college students” (Fichtenbaum, 48). The burden of debt can affect people’s futures in a numerous amount of ways, because an individual may have a degree, but does not earn enough money to pay it off in a reasonable amount of time. Most people continue paying their student loans up to the age fifty. Not everyone can afford to attend college, but simply to go to say they have gone. Over the years the prices have risen to significantly enormous heights. For four reasons college tuition should be free. It’s too expensive, most cannot afford to attend. Second, if university is free students will be able to spend more time focusing on their education. Another reason college should be free is because every student deserves a good education. The final reason is free education will keep student’s debt free in the future. I believe college tuition is too expensive and should be free not only would it help the students but it would also be helping the economy.
