College is place where some describe it as being the best time of their life, while others describe it as being one of the most strenuous points of their life. Books plus room and board are just a few of the various expenses a college student must face. But the most important and expensive is college tuition. A countless amount of these prices are so high the average person, especially a college student, can’t afford it. For the following four reasons, college tuition should be free. It’s too expensive, students need to focus on their studies more, everyone should be able to receive an education, and students will not be burdened with student loans in the future.

The people who manage to bustle through are left in thousands of dollars of debt. Rudy H. Fichtenbaum in the American Association of University professors “Tuition-free public higher education should expand access to high education as well as reduce the burden of debt on a new generation of college students” (Fichtenbaum, 48). The burden of debt can affect people’s futures in a numerous amount of ways, because an individual may have a degree, but does not earn enough money to pay it off in a reasonable amount of time. Over the years the prices have risen to significantly enormous heights. For four reasons college tuition should be free. It’s too expensive, most cannot afford to attend. Second, if university is free students will be able to spend more time focusing on their education. Another reason college should be free is because every student deserves a good education. The final reason is free education will keep student’s debt free in the future. I believe college tuition is too expensive and should be free not only would it help the students but it would also be helping the economy.

One of the hot topics of debate going on in the U.S. today that presidential candidates are talking about is college tuition. Some have revealed their proposals to American citizens on how they would tackle the issue of tuition. The question is which one of the many proposals will work and limit the amount of people who don’t go to college and give them a reason to go. According to Trade Schools, Colleges and Universities “Many of America's top-performing high school students never apply to the most challenging colleges and universities even though they have the ability to succeed at them. They often come from minority and low-income households and end up pursuing more affordable, less-selective schools instead.” College can be a burden to many students in a variety of different ways, but the most common reason is due to funds. Making college free for students will help this problem by increasing jobs in the work industry that require degrees, they should be affordable to all people at all cost, as well as the funds should be completely cut off because it would increase jobs and help America's economy grow.
As people attend college, fees build up and students loan money and possibly be in debt. Not only that, some may say college isn’t worth it, but it is. Getting a degree pays off at the end, going towards your career path, making twice as much as you would work at a regular job. Students who have received a degree are slowly declining. Free college tuition, or even a completely free college education, might sound great, but on whose shoulders does the burden fall? A lot of people want free college tuition because of the constantly rising costs of going to a university, junior college, or community college. A lot of the argument advocates use is that the student debt in this country amounts to $1.2 trillion. While that is a lot of money owed, it is the price you have to pay for an invaluable privilege in the U.S. College tuition shouldn’t be free because taxpayers will need to pay more, students will take their classes less seriously, and states will need to pull money from other departments in order to make up for the lost money. The first reason for being against this “If a college education has value, why give it away?”
For most young Americans, college has always been preached to them as being a vital part to their success in the adult world; but as they reach this educative rite of passage many find they must take out inflated loans, work part time jobs, or even become dissuaded entirely due to the exorbitant costs of higher education. We must forsake this current antiquated system in favor of government subsidized tuition. Those who are opposed to this idea are concerned with quality and accountability of education for all. For those in favor of the expansion of education, free college represents one of the great hopes for a better world. In other words, this has disadvantaged the poor families, resulting in unequal education opportunities for Americans and putting attainment of higher education in danger of becoming a hereditary privilege rather than a right for all people (Selingo para 6).
To give people more employment opportunities, colleges should offer free tuition. A free tuition could be a benefit for students and graduates can make more money. To get all of the benefits and to fulfill people’s needs, people should be educated. All colleges give free tuition for the students who are looking for college but can’t afford college tuition. Having free tuition at many colleges is a benefit to students.
