Introduction This essay, will explore the uses of art in the architectural design industry, and how it has evolved from ancient architecture into a mixture of old and new architectural buildings which are present in today's society. This topic is especially intriguing because architecture has been around for thousands of years— some of the earliest forms of architecture can be dated back to 10,200 BC during the Neolithic time period, where ingenuity and the formation of buildings began to develop. One example of the earliest forms of architecture are the ancient Egyptian pyramids during the time period of 2630 BC trough 2611 BC. Revered as modern masters their ability to incorporate modern and ancient architecture through transcriptions, which is the idea of drawing ideas from a masterpiece. All of these artists are from different cultures and come from different areas around the world. I am interested in these artists because they have built and designed famous structures that complement their contemporary style of art. They are also famous for the way that they are able to mix, and continue to build upon older structures. When individuals think of modern architecture they think about buildings that have very simple and clean lines or dimensions. The use of architecture can be dated back to the ancient Egyptian and Mesopotamian time period, where many structures that aided and inspired the evolution of architecture was created. In today's society as new technologies are being introduced, and we begin to gain more technological advantages the way that we are able to build and create building has dramatically changed . We are using these technologies in architecture to construct some of the largest buildings in the world, and we also use it to build many other buildings including houses. As architecture evolves, artists from the twentieth and the twenty-first century are beginning to incorporate architectural influences from the past into modern architecture. Three artists who are well known for using this method of architecture are Zaha Hadid, Ieoh Ming Pei, and Michael Graves. Dame Zaha Mohammad Hadid, born on October 31st, 1950, was an Iraqi-born British architect. She was known for her radical deconstructive architectural designs. She studied at the American University in Beirut, Lebanon, where she received her Degree in mathematics. In 1972 she moved to London to study at the Architectural Association. She collaborated with many famous architects such as Elia Zenghelis and Rem Koolhaas. She later established her own firm and gained international recognition for her architectural
