Archimedes was born in Syracuse, Italy during 287 BC, and he died 212 BC. Archimedes is one of the three greatest mathematicians of all time, along with Gauss and Newton. He was known by many as “the great geometer.” Archimedes got his attention of mathematics from his father, Phidias, who was an astronomer. He was so concerned in solving problems, that it became his hobby. Because he was care a lot about mathematics, this led him to be a student in Euclid's school, to expand his mathematical knowledge.

Euclid’s Elements are predominantly the most fundamental concepts of mathematics, but his perspective on geometry was the model for over two millennia. He is believed by many to be the leading mathematics teacher of all time. However, little is known about his life outside of mathematics, or even when he was born or when he died. According to a passage written by Proclus, Euclid probably lived after Ptolemy and the pupils of Plato, but came before Archimedes and Eratosthenes. This places his existence sometime around 300 B.C. Euclid is most famous for having set the guidelines for geometry and arithmetic written in Euclid’s Elements, a series of thirteen books in which Euclid states definitions, postulates, and theorems for mathematical concepts that are still used today. What is most remarkable about the Elements is the simple, rational, and very logical structure in which Euclid presents the accumulated geometrical knowledge from the past several centuries of Greek mathematicians. The manner in which the propositions have been derived is considered to be the prime model of the axiomatic method. (Hartshorne 296).
In his first dealings with the city of Thebes, Oedipus found them under the curse of the Sphinx. He actually gained his position of King of Thebes by rendering unto the city a great service, namely the salvation of the city from the Sphinx's plague. Aristotle praised the type of cleverness and practical wisdom Oedipus exhibited in his solution to the riddle as being a component of overall goodness. If it were not for Oedipus virtuous action in saving Thebes, the citizens would have suffered untold disasters at the merciless hands of the Sphinx. He was a mathematician, physicist, astronomer, engineer, inventor, and weapons-designer. Archimedes received his formal education in Alexandria, Egypt which at the time was considered to be the 'intellectual centre' of the world. He was a man both from his time and far ahead of his time. Principle Archimedes discovered many theorems in mechanics.
Pythagoras has commonly been credited for discovering the Pythagorean Theorem of geometry. Though this theorem was previously utilized by Babylonians and Indians; it is widely believed that Pythagoras was first to prove it. He also studied properties of numbers which would be familiar to us today, like even and odd numbers.
Parmenides was a Pre-Socratic philosopher who lived from 515-445 B.C. He was born in Elea (now Velia), a Greek city in southern Italy. His city was at the far end of the known world on the other side of Greece where Heraclitus and the Ionians lived. He escaped his town to study in Athens, the center of the known world. Most likely he was a student of Anaximander and was also influenced greatly by the teachings of Pythagoras. Parmenides joined the religious and philosophical following of Pythagoras in Crotona.
His brilliance and determination serve him well in his position as King, although it can lead him to be unconsciously selfish at times. When Oedipus first arrived, he was instantly seen as greatness to the Thebans for his heroic act of killing the Sphinx and ending an era of starvation. Upon receiving this honor, Oedipus distinguished himself as a true hero and used that to pursue the throne. He was seen as a person that the city could rely on, in turn earning him the respect of all Thebes inhabitants. In a time of need Oedipus was the person sought after to end their troubles and restore comfort to Thebes.
In short, Archimedes was a dedicated person. He always hunger for knowledge especially mathematics. Besides, he was a creative and critical thinker. He could apply what he learnt in his invention. Moreover, he always took up with the challenges. This cause him had great contribution to the future generation. Last but not least, he was loyal to himself his family and his nation country. These qualities of life lead him to become a good person and an excellent personality.

Euclid of Alexandria was born in about 325 BC. He is the most prominent mathematician of antiquity best known for his dissertation on mathematics. He was able to create “The Elements” which included the composition of many other famous mathematicians together. He began exploring math because he felt that he needed to compile certain things and fix certain postulates and theorems. His book included, many of Eudoxus’ theorems, he perfected many of Theaetetus's theorems also. Much of Euclid’s background is very vague and unknown. It is unreliable to say whether some things about him are true, there are two types of extra information stated that scientists do not know whether they are true or not. The first one is that given by Arabian authors who state that Euclid was the son of Naucrates and that he was born in Tyre. This is believed by historians of mathematics that this is entirely fictitious and was merely invented by the authors. The next type of information is that Euclid was born at Megara. But this is not the same Euclid that authors thought. In fact, there was a Euclid of Megara, who was a philosopher who lived approximately 100 years before Euclid of Alexandria.
