Theme is a very strong and universal topic. In every story there is an element of theme. Multiple cultures around the world tell stories of hero's, villains, princesses, princes, adventures, tragedies and more but underneath all of those stories lie the element of theme. Theme is the moral or lesson that is learned from the story. Each story can teach the person about the lesson that is to be learned and taken into account. Without theme in a story, there isn't much point to it. The theme gives a whole new meaning to a story, if the theme is found by the reader. In the story Arcane, there is a theme that stands out at the end of the story giving it meaning and a lesson to be learned. Arcane was a weaver in the land and could weave the most beautiful tapestries that anyone has ever seen. Each tapestry that she weaved became almost lifelike because of her skills and talent. People came from all over to watch her weave her tapestries giving her praise. More and more people came to watch her and the more Arcane ego grew. Soon enough she became very boastful because of her work and said that she could even out weave the gods. One of the gods heard her boast and came down to her disguised as an old women and asked her to repent and ask forgiveness for her boast. Arcane became even more boastful and refused to give forgiveness and then hearing that the old women transformed herself back into the goddess. She then challenged Arcane to a contest of weaving and soon the contest began. The were both very good and neck in neck in the contest until the were finished. Arcane wove a mockery against the gods which angered the goddess making Arcane feel guilt and shame. Soon overwhelmed by the guilt she felt, Arcane hung herself on a tree. The goddess looked down on Arcane and felt pity for her so she turned her into a spider to weave her webs hanging upside down for all
