1. There are four main criteria that are addressed. The first thing is food quality. The article states that “many restaurants scored higher for service - specifically, speed and politeness – than for food.” (773) It goes on to show the results of a New York based french fry test. (774) it even goes as far as showing the results from a test of the main dishes from four categories of fast food restaurants. (778) The second thing mentioned is price. Consumer Reports observes that “fifty-four percent of those surveyed cited low prices as a reason for picking a particular fast food restaurant.” (773) The article goes on to explain that “the tactic of mixing low-price options choices, patented specialties and some pricier options is called barbell or tiered pricing. The charts do an excellent job representing what’s in the text. The article says that “major chains with relatively low scores: sandwich shops Arby’s and Quiznos and pizza joints Domino’s and Pizza Hut. (773) On the main dish taste chart, Arby’s was last in its category, and Domino’s was fifth in its category. (778) In the overall rating chart, Arby’s was second to last in its category, and Domino’s was second to last in its category as well. (781) My family used to love Arby’s. The roast beef was the best roast beef in our opinion. However, we stopped eating at Arby’s in the last few years because it kept making us sick. Because of this, I would give Arby’s a really low rating. Domino’s is my favorite fast food pizza. To me, the pizza is amazing and they are really quick. I don’t understand how Domino’s has such a low speed grade. The article notes that Chick-Fil-A is considered the best for chicken. (777) Both charts show Chick-fil-A at the top of its category.
