A leader who rises to the occasion and displays transformational leadership, without a doubt, leave's a lasting legacy not only for his followers but the world.

Transformational leadership transforms people—both leaders and supporters—as well as organizations for breakthrough results.

Transformational leaders are inspirational, trustworthy, and charismatic role models who lead by example. They understand the strengths and weaknesses of their team and align them with tasks and goals to optimize performance. They engage their team in a way that moves them to also become leaders.

On April 1, 1976, Steve Jobs, Stephen Wozniak and Ronald G. Wayne founded a company called Apple Computer. In the following months, they assembled boards of Apple I computers in the Jobses’ garage and sold them to independent computer dealers in the area. Wozniak was a genius in computers, but he could not market their product, raise money, or operate a business the way Jobs could. It was a perfect combination of skills of the two Steves.

Being a futuristic man, Jobs had the innate ability to articulate a compelling vision for the future. He constantly challenged his Macintosh team to put “a dent in the universe” which saw him articulating his desire for a “brand image campaign” instead of “a set of advertisements featuring products” that was “designed to celebrate not what the computers could do, but what creative people could do with computers”. The ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things. They push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do. For a man who did not graduate from any business school or hold an MBA he did ok you could say. He wasn’t driven by money, which also says a lot. Add to this his inventiveness – 338 patents in USA – and his entrepreneurial skills – setting up Apple – and a pattern appears. Focused, driven, innovative, ahead of the game constantly seeking new ways of doing things. He also had the ability to inspire both individuals and audiences, employees and investors, the public and his competitors, something that very few corporate leaders can do. But probably his greatest skill was to know what the public wanted before they did….leading the market rather than relying on market research to follow
