Astronomers Aplum was an ancient astronomer of the Mesopotamian city, Babylon. Every single night, Aplum would observe the night sky, and record his collected data on brown claw tablets. These tablets were organized at the end of each month. The data from all of the tablets then was then summarized on to one tablet. These tablets were stored and organized in a library. The “star-recording tablets” had many purposes. These tablets were important because priests and a variety of officials used this information to schedule vital events such as loan and tax collections, festivals and other important events.
