This quote was to reiterate the fact that Caesar was not greedy or wanting to seize power over the citizens of Rome. Brutus on the other hand, took a different approach. Rather than prove that Caesar tried to steal the crown, Brutus tries to make his actions seem justified in stating “then none have I offended. I have done no more to Caesar than you shall do to Brutus.”. Brutus' argument was not as strong as Antony's because he tried to make himself look like the hero of Rome, where as Antony tried to protect his friend's reputation, which showed in his speech.
