He was born to a solicitor's clerk in Streatham Hill, South London. He is famous for adopting a bi-disciplinary approach of involving architects in every aspect of a project. In addition, He is also considered as one of the contributor to the development of High Tech style. Anthony Hunt's ability to work out a clever solution, vision and experience helped architects design spectacular structures. Some of his famous works include the Sainsbury Centre, Willis Faber, Waterloo International Rail Terminal, Dyson factory, National Botanical Gardens of Wales, Lloyd's Register of Shipments, the Eden Project, Reliance Controls factory, etc. He is the only structural engineer from UK who has received a Gold Medal from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in 1989 for his contribution to the field of architecture.
