This article discusses how people use their cell phones for instant gratification, and due to cell phone mobility, this gratification can be accessed almost everywhere. This study found that those involved in business and sales use their cell phones for mobility, immediacy, and instrumentality; therefore, they used the cell phones more often than most people do in public places like restaurants and shopping malls. The study also showed that there is a significant difference as to when it is appropriate to use a cell phone between generations. Younger generations were more accepting of the idea than older generations. This article was useful for my topic. Research shows that people who were using their cell phone in public felt less obligated to help others in need. Cell phone users, who speak or text publicly, are also more unfriendly than another person.
