It breaks ethical conduct down into four categories: towards students, practices and performance, colleagues, and parents and the community. This source can be used in education to provide a basic understanding of the way teachers are supposed to act. Presumably, every teacher must agree to the terms of this code of ethics before becoming a teacher. An educator is held to the standards of this code of ethics throughout his or her career. Therefore, he or she must know what this code of ethics says and what it means.
