The fashion industry is a fascinating world many desire to enter and stay in for a lifetime. It wouldn't be the way it is without powerful people who can make it be such a beautiful, entertaining, and exquisite world, a world many people want to be a part of. There are many factors that influence fashion from culture and history to people and the media. So who is the most influential person in the fashion magazine industry, today? That is Ms. Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief for the most prestigious and renown, Vogue. For the last 26 years, Anna has accomplished, educated, and changed the fashion world drastically. (b) She reaches out of the comfort zones of most editors and uses her power for good. By support young designers, starting charity events, and involving herself into politics, she has made a tremendous affect on fashion, for the better.
Anna Wintour was born on November 3, 1949 in London, England. (b) Born into wealth by her parents, her father Charles Wintour was a newspaper editor of London Evening Standard, and her mother, Elinor Wintour was a philanthropist. Anna decided as a teenager that academics were not for her and so in the 1960s, she explored her home city that she loves and adores so much. (b) She was always the farthest thing from traditional, especially with her bob cut hairstyle that she has barely changed since age 15. (b) As a teenager she dropped out of high school, and pursed the tony lifestyle that London had to offer her. These powerful people, like Anna who bring their greatest influence upon the fashion industry around the world decide the fate of fashion, year after year. They are the ones who tell the world what is in and what is out, what is hot and what is not, what you should wear and where you should be.
