Pol Pot Terrible Leader Throughout history, men have risen to power only to lead their nations with corruption and brutality. George Orwell’s novel Animal Farm warns against the evils of absolute power. Despite these warnings, men continue to rule nations with corrupt intentions. One of these men, Pol Pot, didn’t like people telling him he doesn’t know how to run a country. Both Pol Pot and Orwell is Napoleon show how corruption turns to destruction. Pol Pot came to power because of the Khmer Rouge regime, the president resigned, so Pol Pot became the president (The History Place).Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge started the civil war. If someone didn’t agree with Pol Pot or the group Khmer Rouge you would either, die or be stripped of your positions.
