What makes a good leader, As Will Owens once said “ a true leader lies in guiding others to success. In ensuring that everyone is performing at their best, doing the work they are pledged to do and are doing it well.” A leader is a big role to play , whether it’s for a job or a activity, a leader has the most responsible. Its someone who demonstrates what's possible and what can happen if you put effort in something that you really want to do. Being a leader means showing wisdom, personal appeal and proven competence. A leader show how the job is supposed to be done, even if it's not a fun job to do. Boxer would be the most successful leader because

Animal Farm by George Orwell is a novel based on the lives of a society of animals living on the Manor Farm. Although the title of the book suggests the book is merely about animals, the story is a much more in depth analysis of the workings of society in Communist Russia. The animals are used as puppets to illustrate how the communist class system operated and how Russian citizens responded to this. And also how propaganda was used by early Russian leaders such as Stalin, and the effort this type of leadership had on the behavior of the people of Russia.
= The author creates sympathy for Boxer by the fact that he is not very clever, and is quickly taken advantage of by the pigs because of his trustworthy nature. This is show by Boxer's personal mantra, "I will work harder," which indicates that he believes in animalism and that there is something better than Jones and is prepared to work incredibly hard, and push himself as far as he can, because he believes that if he does life will be better for everyone. = ==
In Animal Farm, there are many things that are being symbolized but one of the main one’s being symbolized is Boxer’s character. For example, Boxer is symbolizing the people of the working class in the 1930s during the Russian Revolution. Boxer, like the working people, works harder than other animals throughout the novel. The working class in the 1930s would always work themselves to death, would work harder than other people would, and would still work hard even if they did not agree or like the government just as Boxer did in Animal Farm. Throughout this novel, Boxer is a very diligent worker who works harder than the rest of the animals, is very loyal to the Napoleon, which is the government, and represents the working class throughout
In the beginning of the story Old Major gives a speech to the animals on the farm, and in this speech he mentions how cruel the humans are. During his speech Old Major uses Boxer the horse as an example when he says “You, Boxer, the very day that those great muscles of yours lose their power, Jones will sell you to the knacker, who will cut your throat and boil you down for the foxhounds.” (Orwell 11). He then proceeds to tell the animals that once they revolt the cruelty will end, and at first it does, but soon the pigs begin to act more like humans. The pigs act so much like the humans that at the end of the book it is said that the other animals can’t even tell the difference between the pigs and the humans.
Boxer is being a conformist by listening what the pigs told to do without question. One good example is when he and the other animals are
Boxer was the total opposite of Rosa Parks. He did anything he had to to stay on the good side of Napoleon. He did a lot more than the other animals did and didn't get recognized for it. He was hurt and still did his best to work because this was his duty even when the others didn't do theirs. He never ever questioned Napoleon. He just obeyed him and did whatever he was told. He was very loyal to him.
Definition: Conformity is behavior and appearances that follow and maintain the standards of a group; also the acceptance of cultural goals and the pursuit of those goals through means defined as legitimate.
Often time, authors use different tactics to develop a characterization. The book,“Animal Farm” by George Orwell, is a story about farm animals overthrowing the farmer and taking control of the farm. Through both direct and indirect characterization, Orwell’s depiction of Boxer, satirically representing the Russian working- class, is shown to be dumb, hard working, and dedicated.
In George Orwell’s Animal Farm we get a glimpse of a strange switch in totalitarian rule. From Mr. Jones a cruel farmer who feeds his animals to little and works them to hard, to Napolean a pig that will have you killed for a bottle of liquor. Through stupidity, narrow mindedness and pure cowardice of some animals we view the inevitable as the farm animals become ruled by pigs. Old Major probably not the first animal to think of as an animal to ruin a utopia for the farm, is in most cases not a favored example to contribute to the pigs takeover. This pig finally near the end of his better than average life chose to create a rebellion against the then in power Mr. Jones. A truly justifiable act executed in a time to late, for Major died to soon to lead the farm. If Old Major had summed up an ounce of courage in his closer to piglet years further and earlier then his dying days the animals might have had a chance of a better life. Old Major can be seen as him being a late coward having what is thought on the farm to be a good life trying to end it a false legend or maybe Old Major was a slow hero wanting to leave a better life for his friends. Still though we should agree that for Old Major’s failing action or neglect was the time he chose to start a rebellion, in the few days before he died.
The three characters that I will be talking about are Boxer, Old Major, and Clover. Boxer is a very strong and indefatigable horse who always works harder than everyone else on the farm. I chose Boxer because he is a very strong horse but some of his thoughts are not very good. One thing he did right was he said: “I will always work harder.” This is a good thing because it is a quote everyone should use because everyone should work harder. But one thing he said that was not so good is “Napoleon is always right.” The reason this is not good is that Napoleon manipulates the animals so now that Boxer is saying it the other animals are emboldened to believe it too. Old Major was an old boar who spoke about an idea of the revolution and impromptu died. I chose Old Major is because in his speech he talked about some things that animals still believe posthumously of Old Major. he said some things that were wrong. Something Old major said was good is “No argument must lead you astray.” This is a good crucial thing because no argument should break a friendship. But something wrong he talked about was how everything with two legs is bad because this caused an argument later on. Then Clover is a mare who is very conciliatory and is a mother of the whole farm because she treats all the animals as her own. Next, the reason I chose Clover because she is filial to all animals. Animal Farm by George Orwell is a satire of the Russian Revolution that took place during the late 1930s. Orwell uses vibrant characters such as Snowball, Old Major, and Napoleon to represent some of Russia’s horrific past. While Old Major represents the idea of revolution and Snowball represents the idea of industrialism, Napoleon represents the totalitarian dictatorship in Russia. Animal Farm is a good example of what happened to Russia during this time period. While Animal Farm could represent any dictatorship, it more specifically represents the totalitarianism brought on by Joseph Stalin through communism.
Although he agreed with many of the Marxist principles, he disagreed with the Communist method of addressing these problems. This idea is conveyed in Animal Farm. The animals’ original action of overthrowing their tyrannical overlords and working for themselves is not an inherently evil course to take. However, as the pigs start to take more power for themselves, problems start to arise (Guidorizzi 72). Animal Farm is an allegory; most of the events and animals described in the book represent some historical event or person. The pigs in the book represent communist leaders. Old Major, the boar, represents Marx and Lenin as the one who lays the foundation of their philosophy. Mr. Jones, the farmer, represents the Czar who is abruptly overthrown in a fit of fury from the people. The pigs, Napoleon and Snowball, the two of whom are constantly disagreeing on how the farm should be run, represent Stalin and Trotsky. The dogs represent the various agencies used to force compliance with Soviet rule, while Squealer represents communist propaganda. The original reason that the animals revolt is because the humans take without producing anything; they leech off the labor of the animals. Kicking the humans out of the farm allows the animals to feel better about their work because now they know that all of their labor is for their own benefit. However, the pigs soon started abusing this work ethic for their own gain
Boxer: Is a cart-horse, who has incredible strength, dedication and loyalty to show the type of character he portrays to be also shown in the quote “an enormous beast, nearly eighteen hands high, and as strong as any two ordinary horses put together”. He is one who can listen to ideas but isn’t able to think of them himself as he just admires other people’s revealed when he commented, “If comrade napoleon says it, it must be”.
Although the animals follow a gradual decline, Animal Farm is written in a friendly style with a matter-of-fact tone. Orwell’s characterisation connects the reader emotionally to the characters through simplistic descriptions which draw upon sympathy when labelled as “feeble” (Orwell, Animal Farm, 1945). Alongside this simplistic style, Orwell’s matter-of-face tone reflects the characters inability to respond to events and depicts the severity of the outcome. Boxer, often used as a figure for sympathy due to his hard work, is taken away from the farm and “rapidly disappears down the road” (Orwell, Animal Farm, 1945) while the others watch on in despair. This becomes a pinnacle moment in the narrative and contrasts with the friendly style Orwell had been using to heighten the readers emotional engagement. George Orwell’s Animal Farm, is a satirical novel that follows the causes, effects, and outcomes of a revolution. The Manor Farm is overtaken by the fatigued and dissatisfied animals that work tirelessly for Mr. Jones, the owner of the farm. The revolution is inspired by Major, the prize boar on the farm, but is attained by Snoball and Napoleon, two other boars. Squealer, a younger pig, acts as a persuasive communicator between the pigs and the other animals. The revolution is sparked by the desire to live on equal and just terms. The animals on the farm receive little to no education which affects their position in the revolution. The animals’ ignorance plays a major role in both political and social oppression because of their inability to
