Operating Systems Developed for Mobile Devices
Introduction:
This Paper basically comprises of the informations about the Mobile Operating Systems and its features, Pros and Cons. Competition in mobile industry is increasing day by day. Every mobile company wants to provide best features in their mobile Operating System. As a result, we see various mobile companies provide with different mobile operating systems, having different features on a competitive edge. In this research, I will be talking about various mobile operating systems, together with their features, advantages and lack points. Through this paper, I will compare between these operating systems and will try to provide brief descriptions about the major emerging current Mobile Operating Systems.
ANDROID OS
Android OS has several versions, devices running Android comes in many shapes and sizes, available in different screen sizes and rated in vast numbers of different performance levels. All these factors contributed to the growing fragmentation of Android OS which burden developers to optimise apps according to each category. It was extremely challenging and time consuming.
Even with all those issues, Android's fragmentation have several advantages which made it successful. Android devices with different hardware and sizes reach consumers in each economic level, permitting them to choose which phone or tablet do they exactly want - big or small, cheap or expensive, simple or premium.

This paper discusses about the historical event that takes place within the operating system and their recent development and progression. Therefore it is essential to have a clear comprehension on the operating system that is still accessible to recognize its fundamental strengths and weaknesses. Hence, it is imperative to evaluate the operating system we are reviewing to distinguish between them. Meanwhile, this paper also inspects on the difference between the open source and proprietary operating system. The discussion is mainly about the feature and application used in different operating system.

Cell phone sells were at its apex. Cooper and his team devised a technology so novel that the popularity of it was instantaneous. A device with the ability of only conversating is what the first cell phone was, but as time progressed and technology flourished the once simple talking device transformed into a diminutive computer. Gradually, a plethora of unique features were supplemented to the cell phone sharpening its value making it worthier and superior to the first cell phone. These features include browser accessib...
Looking at the rise and fall of RIM in the market with this dynamic, it is worth asking: How long will Google's Android and Apple last? The question sounds absurd now considering their respective success. Yet asking the same question about RIM just a few years ago would have also evoked similar howls of laughter.
When searching for the latest device you have a choice between apple, and android. These two are similar but very different. Infact these both have two different operating systems. For instance Apple uses IOS 9, apple phones can use this software. On android the software 5.0 is used. All these phones run different programs, you need to make sure that is the right phone for you. There are many different features and styles of phones you can get. Also these all come at a price. This paper will talk about all these topics to make sure you have an idea on what device you would like to buy.
Mobile computing, whether it is the ubiquitous laptop, smart phone or tablet, has become a necessary part of our lives for both work and play. The hardware and software that provides us with the ability to send, receive and process data while on the go is constantly evolving. The companies that develop the hardware and operating systems that enable us to un-tether ourselves from our desks are constantly pouring billions of dollars into research and development to further enhance the hardware and software used for mobile computing. I intend to provide an overview of the major types of mobile devices that we currently use as well as two of the most important aspects of mobile computing, the operating system and programming tools. Operating systems and development tools, the major factors of innovation, will be discussed in depth as well as the hardware platforms they run on. I will then provide a brief history of mobile computing and how we got to where...
Technology has become a huge part of everyday life, and people seem to have one great debate and are fighting over which is the best phone, iPhone or Android. The Apple iPhone is a cellular smartphone that was created and is maintained by Apple Inc. Android is another type of smartphone that is accessible to consumers, but the operating system is powered by Google and many different companies produce Android devices. The different operating systems and interfaces have created a long and carried out debate to which was superior. iPhone is the better phone and there are many reasons as to why it is superior to its rival, Android. The iPhone’s sleek and beautiful design has users’ hands fondling the device and never putting it down. The operating system is very distinct, but is straightforward with its functionality. People who purchase the iPhone believe that they have received their money’s worth and more when owning and iPhone. The iPhone is better than Android when compared because of the beautiful design and attractive display, the operating system and its functionality, and the device’s personal worth is definitely worth the money spent to own one.
Microsoft: Microsoft is still the leader in PC operating systems, along with Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows Vista being the lead operating systems for approximately 90% of the world’s PCs, Google Android and Apple’s iOS. Although they are the leading PC operating system, they have struggled with many of their efforts, including smartphone hardware and software, mobile computing, cloud-based software apps, and its Internet portal. Although, Microsoft’s offering, Bing, has about 2.5% of the search market (Laudon & Laudon 2014).
Symbian is a open-source (EPL) mobile operating system (OS) and computing platform design for smartphone and currently maintained by Accenture. Have you ever wanted a phone that is personalized for you? Android was released in 2008, a year after the iPhone. In 2015, there are 2.5 billion Android users worldwide, compared to roughly one billion iPhone users. Android is better than iPhone because of customization, variety, and design. Firstly, Android is vastly customizable.
For example, iPhones are only compatible with other iPhones down the the text messaging to the facetiming. On all androids they are all compatible with each other it doesn't matter if its T Mobile, at&t, verizon, or sprint. Also all forms of androids LG, Samsung, or Motorola. They are all compatible with each other doesn't matter what combinations of android iPhones are not. Androids are also way more customizable in which iPhones are slacking they have had the same set up since iPhone 3 and androids you can customize it in whichever way you want and get it in any style you want and they will always be this way. Androids will always have a better camera as well iPhone's latest phone rear camera has a 12 MP camera and on Androids latest phone the lg v10 has a 16 MP rear camera. Androids have always been ahead of the game and always will be with there performance and speed.
In the past, mobile phones solely contain the built-in function, such as, a fixed calendar function, a fixed camera function. All the functions on the phones were fixed. Users can only use those functions provided by the manufacturers. This situation was changed by apps. Users were no longer restricted by those built-in function. They can customise their phones by downloading favourable apps and have favourable phones. More importantly, there are hundreds of apps release everyday. Their phones will never out-of-date with the new apps. They can still use the new apps, new function on their old phones. Not only change the experience of users, the developers were also changed entirely. As users demand new apps everyday, developers will have temptation to develop apps and also sell it. It is very easy for develops to earn a huge economy profit facing such giant demand on apps. In 2013, report predicts that global apps revenues will reach US$26 billion.(Gartner, 2013) Undeniably, users and developers are all changed in their experience of using and developing apps and turn apps into a game changer.
The most important part for smartphone is operation system and which gives the smartphone a “life”. The better operation system can make better features for smartphones. For example,
Mobile application is a very aggressive market, there are hundreds of platforms to choose from when designing applications. There are several platforms that currently dominate over other platforms. The Android platform is very popular, it’s one of the most preferred platforms for building applications. Most of its applications are built using JAVA software, but there are others software that are just as equal or greater. Java software is free and offer a free software development kit. The kit consists of sample applications, source codes, developer tools, and emulators...
