Hozier, is the famous Irish singer with the deep voice and intense lyrics. Andrew Hozier Byrne sings the song “Better Love”. This song was composed in June of 2016. “Better Love” was released as a single. Hozier wrote the original song for the Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Roadslow Pictures’ movie “The Legend of Tarzan”. The brilliant singer expressed an incredible amount of feeling and emotion into the song. Also, I love the fact he have such a soulful voice to back up his lyrics. Listeners will be quickly drawn in as they listen to the astonishing lyric, “I once kneeled in a shaking thrill/ I chase the memory of it still, of every chill”. I admire how powerful Hozier’s voice is when he begins to sing and how it fills up a room. The lyrics of this particular song are very emotional, inspirational, and relatable if someone is in love with another person. The first time I ever heard the song “Better Love” was on a commercial for the movie trailer “The Legend of Tarzan”. I recognize the voice, but I was not familiar with the song. I eventually looked up the song and found it was a new single he released a few days prior to the movie trailer release. The beginning of “Better Love” has an unusually mysterious sound to it. Hozier uses various sounds and melodies, and off-beats to start off and throughout this song this particular song. The song starts out with a piano and multiple drum beats, and it quickly builds up as it progresses to the chorus. The rhythm of “Better Love” overall is andante. I would pick andante to describe the pace because it is a decent speed; however, one part of his song speeds up to moderate, but overall I would consider it to be is andante.
