Ancient People Were Civilized

The societies of these ancient peoples are civilized because they had developed a government, law system, and a basis of religion as a way of life. The societies of that time had been smart enough to realize they need to create way of life, in turn the ancient societies made their own form of government to control the masses of people who did not follow the set of rules in place to keep their society under control. The law system of the ancient era made their characteristics more civilized by the knowledge and dependency of one another to help out in making their communities work well. Different societies believed in creating certain beliefs, or religions, to answer to all their questions about life like where they came from and how to get where they need to be. To be considered civilized they had to first create a city and then create order or a way of surviving. Historians generally see the development of cities as a sign of transformation into a civilized state (Sherman, Muller 18). With becoming a city comes order, or a government.
