After being in development for what seemed like an eternity, Sam Raimi brought us one of the most definitive superhero films of all time, 2002’s Spider-Man. Following Stephen Norrington’s Blade and Bryan Singer’s X-Men, Spider-Man quickly became a staple of Marvel in cinema, so much so that it warranted two sequels and two reboots following different iterations of the character. Nevertheless, it’s time to reevaluate the film that started the entire franchise just fifteen years ago, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man.

Essentially, the implication of a supervillain is the overall cause for a superhero film to be created, as it’s existence provides the purpose for the superhero to be drawn into character. When one thinks of a superhero movie, the villains are always remembered first due to the natural attraction for people to see what’s happening on the dark side. People all around the world are intrigued to view the battle between good and evil, just as people watch during the viewings of war movies, as there is always a good and bad side fighting against one another. Without the conflict in the movie, there would be no action or suspense on what would become of the superhero’s society.
This causes the director of SHIELD, Nick Fury ( Samuel L. Jackson) to try to unite the best heroes to defend the earth against Loki. The Avengers is a great mix of adventure and action. The movie had great characters like the incredible Hulk ( Mark Ruffalo) and Iron Man ( Robert Downey Jr.). The movie had numerous scenes where the characters talked to each other in a way that captivates attention because of the framing. It gave the characters personality which made the film for interesting to watch.
