Over the past years, the fast food industry has spread across the world due to its convenience and cost-effective model. Though fast food restaurants are often criticized for unhealthy food items, they also do some good for society. Fast food restaurants have created many jobs in the food industry, including many opportunities to move up into a management position. The employees in fast food places are very diverse. The companies don’t discriminate. However, businesses have to keep consumers attracted in order to keep the business growing. In today’s market, people want healthier menu items with a low cost. They also want to be informed the best way possible, which is through social media. The top trends in the fast food industry are integrating
There are many deals that fast food chains create to make it reasonable for everyone. Nott everyone is able to afford to eat at restaurants. Fast food restaurants accommodate everyone. They are constantly creating affordable deals to keep people coming back. People who have a lot of children are able to feed their children on a budget. Customers can purchase a good amount of food with a budget of ten dollars. Though fast food may be unhealthy; people are still able to feed their children. Having healthier menu items may be beneficial. At least if someone feed their children frequently of fast food, they are able to give their child something a little healthier. Some adults don’t stop at fast food restaurants because of the lack of healthy options. For example Chic Fil a now serves fruit, grill chicken bites etc.Consumers are able to buy so much food at a low cost. According to Frost (2016), “The reality is 67 percent of transactions (at fast-food restaurants) are under $6” (p. 1). Consumers know that when they go to a fast food place they will not spend a fortune to feed their hunger. McDonald’s is the first food chain that comes in mind when you think of “value menu” or “dollar menu”. I cannot think of one place where I can get a burger for only a dollar. Of course I think “what’s in that burger to make it only a dollar?” Fast food places are already affordable but to keep them
Not only do children get on social media but adults do too. If people are not any on social media they are most likely watching TV. If the child sees something that attracts their eye they will most likely want to get it. Fast food restaurants know that if they show a fancy toy on TV it will attract kids. However businesses tend to advertise on social media more than on TV. However businesses still uses TV as platform also. According to Heredia, Hippolyta, Nunes, Ribeiro, Moura and Laneiro (2017), “Children are a frequent target for fast-food advertising, and the television is one of the most used marketing channels”(p. 1). Businesses know that if children beg their parents for something, they will most likely get it. Marketing is about knowing what and how something reaches the consumers. Most of the time the child gets what they want. Not only do fast food places have something that will draw children in they also have something that will bring adults in. Businesses know that when a kid sees something they want, that they will beg their parent. Furthermore, social media has been a large platform to business in general. In the morning, the first thing that many people do is check social media to see “what’s new.” Social media is the best and effective advertising tool.
