What would happen if the world suddenly went vegetarian?
A lot of people ask themselves’ would my life be better if I went vegan?
Author, Rachel Nuwer wrote “What would happen if the world suddenly went vegetarian,” published in 2016 in BBC future, the author argues that eliminating meat in people’s lives has its benefits and it would help the global scale if people were to become vegetarians. Nuwer begins her credibility with sources, citing convincing facts, and personal opinions and statistics, she addresses her appeal in a logical manner; toward the end of the article, she appeals to the readers’ in pathos witch makes her argument more believable and strong.

Nuwer a plus for her credibility also shows that she feels strongly about the topic and has given expert opinions, statistics, and reasons to support her argument. Although her argument is not all good because she makes several flaws in her article by using sources in her article that discuss the downsides of wiping out livestock and eliminating meat for everyone from sources that think this would be a mistake if this were to be done. For example, Ben Phalan a researcher who balances between food deman and biodiversity at the Universities of Cambridge. states that “There are over 3.5 billion domestic ruminants on earth, and tens of billions of chickens produced and killed each year for food,” and that “We’d be talking about a huge amount of economic disruption.” Phalan also states that “Without livestock, life in certain environments would likely become impossible for some people,” for example, Phalan states that “The cultural impact of completely giving up meat would be a very big, which is why efforts to reduce meat consumption have often failed,” Phalan makes a good point in how meat is an important part of history, tradition and cultural identity for example in how other cultural use meat in their daily lives. Phalan says that numerous groups around the world give livestock gifts at weeding, celebratory dinners such as Christmas centre around turkey or roast beef, and meat based dishes.
