.. Manny Pacquiao is one of the most famous and highest paid boxer of our generation. He is a
modern day Rocky Balboa except he is actually the real deal. It is only fitting that he represents
some of the today’s top companies in their ads. Even more so for what I would consider the
biggest company of them all, Nike. It is only fitting as that is what all of this generation’s sports
stars do if they are elite athletes.
The top portion has a black background with a beam of light coming in from the top as if it’s all
eyes on him where you see that the beam is hitting a boxer grasping the ropes as he is on his
knees. The ropes were colored red, white, and blue with a red turnbuckle. The boxer acts almost
as if he is praying with an invisible “audience” is surrounded around him. He was ripped with
muscles from head to toe showing how strong and well off this elite boxer is. He wore red Nike
shoes and white trunks with a golden eagle design and “pacman” written on the sash of his
trunks. The bottom of the ad reveals “MP” with a crown or sun on top of the “M”, the Nike logo,
a quote that says “Give Us This Day” and the date “12.06.08.” The boxer was the only thing that
really catches your attention. Unless you are an avid boxing fan you would not recognize who
the man is, but thanks to his nickname on his trunks and the “MP”, almost any person could get
the idea. It looks as if he is in prayer, but that is because he always prays before and after he
fights. How he is situated in the picture with his arms and legs spread like they appear as if he is
creating a picture of himself Jesus was when he was crucified. This could imply Pacquiao as
being a savior and that he is going to save the hopes of all the ...

Philippines When the fight was announced many said that de la Hoya would win because he was
a much more experience boxer. This ad shows Pacquiao’s hidden fears because knew he couldn’t
underestimate de la Hoya, so to bring “his heat” he wears Nike shoes. The advertisement reveals,
even when you face a big threat, with Nike you will be unstoppable.
An advertisement can mean
or stand for anything, whether it is simple or complicated. It can have famous people, animals,
be various colors or be black and white. The reason why one picture becomes an ad is because
it represents something exactly what the company wants. And that is for you to want to buy and
wear Nike products. This Nike ad with Manny Pacquiao is a very enjoyable ad that is a
great example of such a simple picture being effective.

Remnick does not shy away from discussing the shadowy history of the boxing world (no pun intended). It's well known boxing has been affiliated with the 'mob,' but perhaps what is lesser known is Clay's absolute refusal to be in any way associated with the Mafia.
Everyone wants to be on top of the world and have the opportunity to have it all, but not everyone will work for it. Under Armor’s brilliant commercial does a great job of getting their message to young, aspiring athletes all over the world. Their commercial starts with a young boy in the middle of a field listening to the ground. The narrator, famous Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, is whispering “footsteps” and the boy is listening to them. As he listens, the commercial goes on with the showing of various athletes training such as Cam Newton, Tom Brady, and a few crossfit champions. Throughout the commercial the viewer can see how hard they are training using different kinds of under armor training shoes. The commercial then wraps

In the 1930s America was "the undisputed center of world boxing," its popularity was immense and this opened the doors to many including Hispanics and African- Americans. The popularity of boxing was seen in the film through the immense amount of crowds that would place bets on fighters and the groups of people that listened to it on the radio. This popularity is seen when James J. Braddock has his biggest fight and his wife goes to pray for him at the church, but the church is already full of people who are there to pray for him. The immensity of the popularity is seen clearly throughout the scene in the background. As the scenes of fights are filled to the brim with ...
The class begins with middle punches. This entails bringing the left foot out into a sitting stance where our legs reflect a person riding a horse. The hip is rotated backwards then propelled forwards as the fist on the belt twists towards our imaginary opponent in front of us. Then Master Copper pairs each student with a partner of equal height to practice kicks. When my partner extends his sidekick, the crusty dirt on the sole of his foot brushes past my eyes, and the speed of the kick creates a breeze of stale air. In the middle of class, we incorporate the punching bags into our workout. The low belts use the tall, thin sun colored bag, and the high belts utilize the thick, blood colored bag. However, the black belts utilize “Bob the Bully”, the tan, lifelike bag with dense padding and broad shoulders. After six hours of school and at least four hours of homework, punching and kicking the toned face and rippling abs of Bob brings a substantial amount of satisfaction. As my knuckles make contact with Bob’s rigid jaw, I grit my teeth and each blow connects with more power than the last. Beads of sweat roll down my face as Bob’s head shifts from side to side following each blast of force. The instep of my foot creates indents in the sides of Bob as my half turning kicks
Jack Dempsey was best known for his intriguing knockouts and his fists of steel (“Biography”). In his fight against Jess Willard, former champion, Dempsey knocked him down seven times within three minutes (Smith). This was the boxing match that began Dempsey’s reign as heavy weight champion of the world (Hadden 161). After the fight he earned the nick na...
Cassius Clay better known as Muhammad Ali is by far the greatest boxer of all time. "King of the World" by David Reminick is a very detailed biography of Muhammad and good documentation how boxing used to be. Muhammad Ali was a man made to box. He had a great career before him since he made his first professional fight under President Eisenhower presidency. His Professional Career was really impressive. His had a great balance and was able to move his hands and feet in great speed and coordination. Ali was said to dance in the ring while destroying his opponents. Ali started fighting at a very short age, and his first teacher was Joe Martin (Hauser 18). Through hard work and discipline, he became a professional fighter and eventually the Heavyweight champion of the world. Although he lost the title twice, he regained it three times, putting him in the history books. His boxing career was put to an end when he started suffering from Parkinson's disease. This was the end of his boxing, but his greatness will never die.
When prominent boxers of the 20th century are discussed, many heavyweight champions are mentioned. Names like Floyd Patterson, Sonny Liston and Joe Frazier always find their way to the front of the conversation. But it is Muhammad Ali, a three-time heavyweight champion and political activist, who always seems to find the forefront of it all. Born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. on January 17, 1942, Ali came into the ring after his bike was stolen at the age of twelve. He brought up his anger to Officer Joe Elsby Martin Sr. who suggested he start boxing. Ali quickly became a star after winning a gold medal at the 1960 Olympics. At 6’3”, Ali demonstrated extraordinary speed and accuracy and he quickly became a contender for the heavyweight title.
ethic. He overcame his legal matters, and survived through the persecution of his religion, he still managed to accomplish more than any boxer, and a majority of any athletes. Though it was just self-proclaimed confidence, he turned out to be just what he told the world, “The Greatest”
Muhammad Ali is one of the most decorated athletes in American history. For decades he dominated the boxing world going against any and every opposition that came before him. His stamina and charisma has yet to be matched by any athlete since him. The Vietnam War drove many Americans into the vicious battle. Many served faithfully but Muhammad Ali refused to serve his country in that way. His career was threatened and he was on the verge of being named one of the great villains of American history simply because he refused to fight in a war that his religion did not believe in and that most Americans would find in bad taste just years later.
He also has rockets on the bottoms of his feet just like Iron Man does so that he
