‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ is a television series that many people have been aware of since August 2012. Depicting the life of a southern low class family, Alana Thompson, the star of the show, participates in pageants and displays her charismatic personality throughout every episode. Mama June, Alana’s mother, is known for her extreme couponing ways in order to take care of her large family living in McIntyre, Georgia. Recently, ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ took a turn for the worst when Mama June started dating Mark McDaniel, a registered sex offender in the state of Georgia. Anna will be exposed to the man that took advantage of her and one that she should avoid for the rest of her life. Anna tells TMZ “it is mama’s fault and I blame it all on her” (Phil, 2014). June’s own daughter is questioning her value and belief system. Mama June is not taking a utilitarian approach to evaluate her decision because she is only concerned with the benefit she will receive. She is also not taking a moral-rights approach because she is disrespecting Anna’s feelings and security. As an effective parent, the safety of your children should be the number one priority. Stated in the Constitution, denying any human being the right to life, liberty, property, health, and safety is illegal. The show has been cancelled, as I stated above, which means the income will stop. But, what does the future hold for the children, specifically Anna? Will Anna be able to forgive her mother and move on from her personal ethical dilemma or will she have to live in the absence of her mother because of her relationship with Mark? Anna may be mentally abused due to her incident with Mark, which could cause for a rough life now and even more importantly in her future. She may need to attend therapy or counselling to further deal with the issues. Will Mama June put her children through this danger or wake up to realize the immorality? Will she get the kids taken away from her? A code of ethics needs to be put into place with Mama June and herself, as well as with her children in order to protect everyone
