Play Review Doubt: A Parable At first I wasn’t much of a theatre person and I have never seen an actual play before. I wasn’t really sure what to think of the play or to expect. I attended the Sunday performance of Doubt: A Parable, on October 4 at 2:00 pm. For my first play, it was excellent! I was amazed by the performance and the stage set up was phenomenal. So in this play review over Doubt: A Parable I will be going over how well the actors were in the performance to how well the stage was made. The first thing I will go over is the actors. Overall, they did a fantastic job and portrayed the characters well. Zachery Schaftlein, who played Father Brenden Flynn, and Abigail Elmore, Sister Aloysius Beauvier, both did a fantastic job in their roles. I loved the …show more content…

How he spoke the sermons made them feel like I was in an actual Catholic church in the 1960’s. Zachery made it sound like he has done sermons his whole life. Also, when he was arguing with Sister Aloysius, he actually seemed upset. As if he had done something wrong or was getting very angry at the Sisters accusations and was about to lose it. Abigail Elmore did an excellent interpretation of Sister Aloysius. Just by the look she had on her face and the judgmental stare it made her seem like the kind of person to accuse you for giving yourself a nosebleed with a ballpoint pen. Even how she talked and composed herself gave off the same vibe. Also during the conversations with Sister James and the arguments with Father Flynn you can tell she is the kind of person who forks for what she wants and will stop at nothing for perfection and the truth. Alison Ferebee, who played Sister James, did an amazing job for her first debut at Austin Peay. The only problem I had was she was too enthusiastic with her character. Over all she did a good job. The only thing was she got really emotional in some of the conversations with Father Flynn and Sister
