Produced by Illumination Entertainment and released by Universal Pictures, the famous Despicable Me 2 hit theatres on July 3, 2013. This movie had an astonishing worldwide box office of $970,361,125 with a budget of only $76,000, which caused it to become one of the most profitable films in the 100-year history of Universal Studios. This film was directed by the wonderful Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud and written by the brilliant Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio. Despicable Me 2 also became the second highest grossing animated film of 2013 and the third highest grossing film of 2013.
Since the first movie, Gru becomes a devoted father, raising his daughters Margo, Edith and Agnes while also researching a jelly and jam business with Dr. Nefario and the minions. In the meantime, a powerful aircraft using magnetism steals a laboratory in the Arctic Circle. The Anti-Villain League, who are dedicated to fighting crime on a global scale, send agent Lucy Wilde to recruit Gru, to help the agency solve the mystery. Gru agrees to help and partners with Lucy to find the evil person. Gru first suspects that the owner of a Mexican restaurant, Eduardo Perez, may be the villain El Macho who is believed to be dead. I would give this movie a 9/10 rating and definitely recommend it to those of all ages, as this movie appeals to the entire family. There is absolutely nothing that I hated about this movie, other than the fact that it made me die of laughter. There are so many moments in the movie that you will remember forever because of the incredible amount of comedy. The storyline is unique and the animation is just impressive. The characters are so lovable that there’s no way you wont fall in love with them, especially the minions. If you enjoy watching animated or comedy movies, Despicable Me 2 is a perfect movie for you.
The money brought in from the movie was massive for it’s time . When first proposed the plan for the budget was $350,000.This was later change the scheduled for a 24-day shoot and a budget of $454,864.In the first month it made a million in the U.S. before the end of the year it made an additional 2.5 million. Even though it wasn’t the top selling movie of the year it still made a good amount of money.
Poor Kids is a documentary that highlights a major issue the United States is suffering from. This issue is known as poverty, more specifically, childhood poverty. This documentary views the world through the eyes of children that are subjected to lives of poverty due to the poor financial state that their parents are in. Life is very rough for these children and they must live their everyday lives with little to none of the luxuries most people take for granted. Poor Kids sheds light on the painful fact that there are children that starve every day in the United States.

This Documentary explores the United States growing epidemic of obesity and diabetes as well. Morgan decides to eat nothing but McDonald's food for thirty days. He must eat one of everything on the menu at least once, and when asked to super size his meal he must do so. Another stipulation of Morgan's experiment is that he can only take 5,000 steps a day to replicate the exercise that most average Americans get on a daily basis. He must also eat three meals a day, no exceptions and if McDonalds doesn't serve it Morgan can't eat it.

The film ‘Minority Report’ directed by Steven Spielberg was released in 2002 and is set in the future of 2054. The main idea for Minority Report, is about a crime unit, which is set around 3 psychic twins, the ‘pre-cogs’ who have the ability to see brutal crimes before they are to occur. The pre-cogs are rested in a room, also called ‘The Temple’ where they are nurtured and their visions are recorded. The pre-crime unit, equipped with advance tech rush to the scene and stop the crime before they occur. Tom Cruise being the action movie star he is, playing the on-the-run pre-crime cop role of John Anderton, paired with Steven Spielberg at his directional best, make a significant work of art. Spielberg uses various techniques to portray several ideas to directly show the viewers a certain message.
The film opens with a high-speed pursuit ending in a shooting in South Central Los Angeles. The officers involved, Brian Taylor and Miguel Zavala, are close friends and partners in the LAPD. Taylor, a former Marine, is filming their police activities for a film project in his college class. Next the officers respond to a public disturbance call. The culprit, a Bloods gang member named Tre, hurls racist insults at Zavala, who responds by accepting a fight, to Taylor's approval. Zavala beats and arrests him, but wins the man's respect for not charging him with assault. Then Taylor has a hunch and decides to scope out the home of the mother of Big Evil. The officers follow and pull over a truck that leaves the house — the driver draws a gun and is arrested. Inside the truck they find ornately decorated firearms and a large amount of money. Taylor convinces Zavala to further investigate the house involved in the incident. At the house, they arrest another man, who is also in possession of several ornate firearms, and is guarding a cell full of human trafficking victims. Suddenly, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrive and take over the scene. One agent informs Taylor and Zavala that the house is tied to the Sinaloa Cartel,...
.... While it was good for its era and considered a classic by many, this film has many flaws due to the technological constraints. The musical numbers aren’t catchy, the story felt lacking, the visuals are putrid at times, and I have no idea how it won the Oscar for special effects. The orphans seemed to show little importance to the story besides Paul. After Charlie displayed arrogance, he never did anything to sway away from that. Carrie had the smallest part of the film and it seemed almost non-existent. Paul was probably the only orphan required for the story to progress. I would only recommend this movie to those who are either a fan of classic Disney movies or to a parent that would like to show their children something different. Despite winning an Oscar for special effects and being deemed a classic, Disney’s Bedknob and Broomsticks is rather average.
...r, this movie is lack of depth of storyline. The audiences can even predict what will happen in the next scenes. Moreover, the ending of this movie is too cheesy and irrational according to me. If only they change the ending to become more interesting and rational, I will give a four or five stars out of five. In spite of a lame twist ending, this movie is a perfect example to show that managers should be able to motivate and challenge their employee. It is important to remember that a happy employee means a productive employee.
Throughout the film, viewers witness Gru’s self-concept drastically changing. This is very important to recognize because self-concept influences the “roles we play, social identities we form, the comparisons we make with others, and our successes and failures” (Meyers, 40). In the beginning, Gru collectively characterizes himself as a villain, and as a result, forms a social identity as an evil individual. He does not compare himself to a layperson, such as his next-door neighbor, but rather to other villains and their criminal accomplishments. His self-concept influences the role he plays in society, and hence his behavior and actions. Gru’s behavior can be described as selfish, as he is solely concerned of his own gains and benefits, and very aggressive. He shapes his behavior to emphasize his social role of a villain. For example, in the beginning of the film, when Gru sees a young boy crying because he dropped his ice cream, he makes a balloon animal for him. When the boy begins to smile, Gru then proceeds to pull out a pin and pop the balloon. When he encounters a long time...
Of course this movie is one of the best from Pixar Animation Studios, whose animation is outstanding. Rating: Monsters Inc. gets five stars from the incredible settings, the actually intriguing conflict, arresting climax, and joyful dénouement. Wonderfully the thought and imagination shine throughout the whole movie manifesting itself by the details put in, from the scratches on a building in the Monstropolis suburbs to the flowing, individual hairs on Sulley’s monster body. The movie is superb. It is inevitable for families to grab some chairs, and watch this great movie with Mike, Sulley, Randall, and Boo, because it’s that awesome. This movie is family and monster friendly alike.
Toy Story is the groundbreaking 1995 motion picture developed by Disney and Pixar and directed by John Lasseter. The film was so revolutionary not only because it was the first feature length animation to be created completely by CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) but also, also the film was more rounded in all respects. The characters not only looked more sophisticated and three-dimensional but their personalities were also more human and fewer cartoons like. The film uses a constructed text in order to put across a theme of two very different characters learning to work together beyond their rivalries to rise above a common enemy and work towards a common goal. The film uses characters and imagery very cleverly to portray this theme. The music used in the film is also different to other Disney features. Rather than the characters bursting into song themselves as in Aladdin or Hercules, the songs are played and sung by an outside person (Randy Newman) and reflect the mood and emotions of the characters in a particular scene. For example, the title sequence song “Friend in Me”, when Woody and Andy are playing together, and the scene where Andy’s room has been made over to a Buzz Lightyear theme, “Strange Things” where the song reflects Woody’s confusion and fear not only about the change in his surroundings but also the change in his friends and his own character and self-confidence. The attention to the smallest detail for example the reflections in Buzz’s visor give the film even more realism and depth. The use of unusual and imaginative camera angles, made possible by the use of CGI, also adds to the texture and pace of the film.
