American Me is a film created by production companies Olmos Production, Universal Picture, and Y.O.Y directed by Edward James Olmos in 1992. The film is a fictional drama about the journey of a boy creating the Mexican Mafia in prison based on Rodolfo Cadena (Burnstein, 2016). Floyd Mutrux and Desmodo Nakano were the writers of the film who took information from two members of La Eme to create a storyline for the film. Edward James Olmos represents Montoya Santana life in prison and the co-creating the Mexican Mafia within it. The film beginning is a flashback of Santana returning to prison narrating his early life to the current time.Before Montoya Santana life began, the story of his parent was told as they were pachucos affected by Zoot
