Literature is one of the mirrors reflecting the image of human beings throughout world history constantly and honestly. In spite of any forms, language or presentation, people are always the center in both of ancient and modern literature work. Among those anonymous writings, The Analects of Confucius of Master Kong has been known as a profoundly influencing masterpiece in world literature. “The Analects throw light on people, concrete situations, and above all the exemplary model of Confucius himself, instead of supplying systematic expositions of his ideas or abstract definitions of moral philosophy” (1332, vol.3). As the Master said in Book VI in The Analects “A good man’s trials bear fruit-this is goodness indeed.” (1342, vol.3) Yes, that is totally true! Being already a man, there are usually both good and evil sides in the heart. If that one does not comprehend about ethical rules, he or she will not be an ideal one. Moreover, modern daily life has become more and more complex with unexpected obstacles so that it is required for each individual to put much effort to improve them into an upper level, which means more ethical standards. When everyone tries to follow the truth in the life, they will get closer to the path of goodness, which is the main element to be a good person. Human are the base of a society, a community and a nation. If they do not have “Human Nature in some sorts of blended human traits” (De Sousa, 14), how a civilized country could be created? According to Master Kong, people are such pure and honest ones when they are born, and as a result, all characteristics and features are formed and developed during their grow-ups. Parents who are the most closest people in the world to anyone because they are the one to give birth, raising, taking care and unconditionally loving us no matter what happens. Under no circumstances should people be disrespected to their parents because of a responsibility of being a child in family. That is a symbol of the root of human’s love. People not love their biological parents; they are impossible to love others, “loyalty in society extends from loyalty in family, then loyalty to family promotes or furthers loyalty in society” (Foust, 195). Apparently, dutifulness is a special form of morality, is not only be expressed by respectful words to elders but also be described as gentle taken-care gestures when being sick, daily behaviors and attitudes.
