The album American Idiot was communicating one main message. That George W. Bush was wrong to demonise all muslims are the same and are all part of the Taliban. They described George W. Bush as a racist and predaceous towards the innocent muslims that just wanted to live there life in the safety of America and escape all the war and death that lurks in there war torn countries.

The storyline follows the lives of two-half brothers, Lucas and Nathan Scott who both share a father named Dan. From birth, Dan Scott tried to keep the two sons drifted apart from each other. As the series progress, Lucas and Nathan rekindle their relationship. This season series is about small town kids who navigate their way through life. As the story goes on, this show proves to be more than just a teen melodrama. Teeming with extended life lessons and the importance of gender roles, One Tree Hill becomes a hit TV series.
American Idiot, arguably Green Day’s most famous album, is one of the best example of and the most well-known musical protest of George W Bush. The album marked a milestone for Green Day, the benchmark where they became a political band. In the earlier albums, Armstrong wrote about anxiety, relationships, panic attacks, etc., looking inwards as a muse. However, in American Idiot, Armstrong does a complete 180, writing about politics and the “alienation and anger he felt during the presidency of George W Bush” (Orange). Def Leppard is one of the most influential rock bands of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Over the past forty years, the band has released eleven studio albums and gone on many worldwide tours. Their mix of pop rhythm, guitar riffs, and heavy metal has earned two Def Leppard albums RIAA Diamond Certification (“The Story of Def Leppard’s Pyromania Album”). However, Def Leppard had to overcome injury, death, and grunge rock to become the success story they are today.

Sunsets are beautiful. It allows you to take a breath and reflect on both the roses and the thorns that life throws at us. Altschuler writes about in his book, “All Shook Up – How Rock ‘n’ Roll Changed America.” Between 1945 and 1965 Rock ‘n’ Roll transformed American society and culture by helping to ease racial integration and launch a sexual revolution while most importantly developing an intergenerational identity.

The cultural artifact that I have chosen is regional Mexican music. Mexico has a musical history that is full of cultural contrasts, with many different musical styles and influences. Today, music is essential to the way Mexicans live; music is everywhere.
On a cold and snowy February afternoon last year, I sat down in my living room and decided to watch a movie. The movie of choice was Good Will Hunting. It popped up on my queue and I had not read any reviews, so I was certainly not expecting to have a deep, philosophical look at my life afterwards. Good Will Hunting is riddled with life lessons. After the movie, I considered what Will learned and tried to apply it to my own life.
I’m going to go ahead and lump the entirety of Rubber Soul into its own moment. This album was revolutionary at the time, featuring musical arrangements and lyrics that broke down all pop standards. Tracks like “We Can Work It Out,” “Girl,” “I’m Looking Through You,” and “If I Needed Someone” expressed a mature perspective toward relationships. This paved the way for other artists to produce deeper lyrics. “Drive My Car” and “Norwegian Wood” opened the door to the ideas of women in power, reversed gender roles and the dark, adulterous side of tour life. Tracks like “Single Ladies” by Beyonce or even Father John Misty’s “Tee-Pee’s 1-12” come to mind.
When Rock arrived on the music charts in the 1950's, a merging of African-American and White music, it made a huge impact on society. As a general rule I am not heavily into music, but I was drawn to Rock for some inexplicable reason. It is just the music I like. This genre will be difficult to write about because the origin of Rock is unclear; there are traces of Rock's style back into the 19th Century. It is also a very broad subject and I will have to compress a lot of information into as few pages as possible. Be that as it may, Rock is, in my opinion the best music genre on the charts.
