When I reflect on what I have learned through out this past weeks, it has been amazing, and wonderful. The knowledge I have acquired in the healthcare industry, has increased my desire to work as a healthcare administrator. I have just started this course and I would love to see myself in a few years as an administrator in Ambulatory Surgery Center. That reminds me to mention that ASC is one of my favorite topics in this course. I understood that a bachelor’s degree is sometimes adequate for entry-level positions in smaller facilities and a master’s is the standard credential for most generalist positions as a medical or health care manager. To earn a standard credential to qualify for medical or healthcare manager, I have planned to further my education to graduate school. Through this course I have come to understand, and identify the key role of a governing board, which I know I will practically have the experience of it in the work field. The six types of the legislative initiative in healthcare are outstanding; to me it’s very important to have the knowledge of these laws to better understand how the system works. HS 285 is the important ground work that has laid the foundation for this course. My peers also play a major role by sharing their thoughts and idea through discussions, both ways I have benefited, and improved my learning, and understanding concerning this course. I am interested in this course, and this is exactly what I want to do. My desire to be a healthcare administrator is not just learning, and understand what this course means, but capable to ensure quality healthcare in a safety environment for my staff.
