There is no real "problem" with cell-phones in themselves. Students just need to learn, and remember, that there is a time and a place for everything. A cell-phone should generally not be used in class, unless perhaps somebody is standing at the front of the room with a gun, or if there was some other calamity, such as: kids making bomb threats and what not - for these reasons I find it completely reasonable for a child to be permitted to be equipped with a powered "ON" cellular device. I don't know about you, but if I have kids one day who are potentially in danger, I would want to be aware of this at once.
Given the unquestionable results regarding the use of cell phones by students in school there should not be a ban on the cell phones in schools. This is because students can learn to enhance their learning from the technology such as the cell phone. Students will also become more independent in their work and more motivated to learn. Students like being permitted to making their own choices.
Cell phones have only been in the picture for a short amount of time compared to how long people have been going to school but cell phones are everywhere now and make it difficult for schools to come up with what to do. As many believe they are a distraction and can be used for cheating and other negative stuff. There are also people that are highly in favor of having cellphones as they can be helpful with all the tools they provide and people who are not and it 's all about who makes a better argument. Cell phones used to just have communication abilities but that is far gone now you have the abilities to use apps and different functions that fit nicely into a school environment. Cell phones should be allowed in the classroom as cell phones provide positive benefits and are a helpful tool in learning.
It’s not acceptable to use cell phones in class. Actually, using cell phones has more negative effects than positive. So, why do we need to change the policy that prohibits students from using cell phones in classrooms? In my opinion, I will say no, we shouldn’t change the policy that exists now - no cell phone use, under any circumstances.
Schools should allow cell phones in schools for children's protection and safety. Secondly, cell phones can keep you connected with your buddies. Instead of screaming, and yelling in the halls to ask your buddy for books, you can simply call them on your cell phone. Picture this, there has been a school lockdown, the suspect cut the landlines so no one could call the police for a rescue. However, the suspect was captured by the police much faster than he imagined. The last scene wouldn’t have happened if it was one decade ago, because cell phones were not popular in schools then. When it comes to cell phones, some people think they should not be permitted in schools, and other people think they should be permitted in schools. I agree with the latter opinion for the following reasons: Cell phones are an efficient way to communicate when emergencies occur in school; cell phones can be a great tool for learning during school hours; and the current prohibitive rules on cell phones are merely fruitless efforts. Cell phones should be permitted in schools, because they could be very beneficial and practical in schools.
For instance, taking pictures of things in class with cell phones, students can later review the photos to have a better understanding of what they learn. What’s more, a built-in calendar function that every mobile phone possesses can be very useful for students who have a hard time remembering test dates, assignment due dates and other such details where time is of the essence. Additionally, a voice recording feature of mobile phones can be beneficial to students who would like a quick way to keep track of what they need to do. After all, students may not always have immediate access to a notebook, so using a cell phone to “jot down” important information can be helpful
Cell phones should not be allowed in school because children focus more on the phone than schoolwork, it creates more drama, and it promotes cheating. Cell phones should not be allowed in schools because kids are always wondering what their friends are doing and what is happening outside of school. If they have access to their phones all day, then they will be glued to them. Phones are more entertaining than a teacher lecturing at the front of the class. Most students will start to zone out, or fall asleep, when a teacher starts a lesson.
Ever since incidents such as 9/11 and Columbine, high schools have started implementing new rules regarding cellphones. Cellphones regard the attention of building managers, teachers, parents, and students. Although teachers see them as a distraction and a way to cheat, they can be quite helpful to students. School districts should permit students to use cellular devices in school for purposes of improving their education and providing themselves a sense of security.
To begin with, cell phones are needed in school because a student can have an emergency. As teens get older they are becoming more independent. Often the only way that their parents can be sure that their kids are safe is by calling them. Imagine if there was a fire in a school and your child was the only one to know about it. Technology and more specifically cellular phones play an important role in our everyday life. Today researchers have found that cellular’s help not only inside the classroom but have had a positive learning outcome outside as well (Thomas & OBannon, 2013). When we think of cell phone, learning is not the first thing that comes to mind, but with the different ways that as teacher cell phones can be use for everything. Granted most of these ideas are for more mature students, the ones that have a better understanding of not only technology but also how to use it for their education. Some say that cellular can be use as an incentive for students to learn and there are guides and books that teach educators how to handle the technology in the classroom without creating a problem. Even though some say educator are still the ones deciding if or when to use technology the truth is that every child has a Smartphone or a laptop or some technology available at that moment that not even if the teacher wanted them to stop using it they wouldn’t.
