In All Summer In a Day, Ray Bradbury tells us that sometimes jealousy can sometimes lead people to do odd things. One theory of this is when the kids lock Margoe in a closet. They felt jealous and ended up letting their feelings get the best of them. The themes other people come up with are accurate but this theme is more true and accurate. The reason is because this theme happens many times throughout the story. Them the kids do one thing anyone expected them to do, they let her out of the closet. This just shows how odd people get when they are jealous.

Some think that the theme is that bullying can hurt people. Yes that is true in life but not in this story. The theme isn’t that because only a few times in the story does Margoe fell hurt. The theme of jealousy is shown many more times than the other one. Jealousy plays a role throughout the story.Although the other theme is show in the story this theme is show more times and is more important. The theme is also shown when the kids let Margoe out of the closet. The kids were being odd because they put her in the closet now they are letting her out. They knew that she was mad and sad about not seeing the sun so why would they let her out. The kids were just acting odd and letting her out. If they were jealous they wouldn’t let her out they would keep her there. Over all the kids were acting weird and out of the ordinary.
