Alcatraz was a prominent part of the history of the United States, because of a plenitude of rationalizations that are altogether completely verified and unquestionable. Alcatraz was relatively caused by the prohibition act, which is a decree passed in 1920 and reinstated in 1933. The prohibition act was an outlawing of the selling of alcohol in any way, including wine, liquor, beer, and malt.This law outraged many people, and of the most notorious, Al Capone; who is practically the mob boss of Chicago. These infuriated people put up illegal speakeasies, which are hidden bars that sell alcohol in various ways. To put an end to this, someone decided to make an adjudication to put this to a roaring halt. This person was the warden of the prison, James A. Johnston . On Alcatraz, there were two prisons, and neither have withstood the catechization of time. Moreover, the first prison on Alcatraz was built, but seldom used for its sole purpose. This first prison was decommissioned before Johnston was building the much more ameliorate prison over the top of the old one. After the prison was finished with being fabricated, Johnston handpicked the best, most incomparable guards from around the United States from other prisons. To me, Alcatraz didn't really look like a shut down prison at that moment. It looked more like an old worn down cemetery. The paint on most of the buildings was chipped off all the way down to the wood. Most of the buildings had collapsed down to some cement foundations and old rusted poles hanging every other way. As we walked to the building where you start your tour, that was probably the only building at this place with cleanliness to it. They gave us our tour headphones, which take you through the whole prison with a audio guide telling you how it was in the prison. Not just how it was for the prisoners, but how it was for the guards too.
