Leo Szilard was a German man that discovered how to make an atomic bomb. Due to the fear that Hitler would find out Szilard could create an atomic bomb he went to one of the best scientists, Albert Einstein. Einstein and Szilard worked together in the 1920s causing Szilard to think Einstein was the best person to write the letter due to his fame, connections, and intelligence. Szilard sat down with Einstein and explained why the equation for the bomb could never reach Hitler. The two men wrote many drafts of the letter.
