Alaska Airlines is very unique in its extensive flight coverage of remote towns throughout Alaska. As one of the smallest independent airlines it uniqueness is through its ability to build state-of the art processes and technology that will yield high customer satisfaction. The airline is most proud of its twenty minute baggage guarantee. Its twenty minute baggage process is illustrated in the flowchart below:
1. Passengers tag their bags with bar code stickers and check in their baggage at the kiosks.
2. Passengers then deliver them to a customer service agent at the carousel.
3. The customer service agent carries the bags through the vast underground system, delivering them to the baggage handler.

283). There are also other processes that airlines can examine such as online check-in. This process will elevate the long check-in lines at the airport and is also very time consuming. Whereas printing boarding passes and luggage tags online makes the process easier on passengers as well as on the employees trying to get passengers to their gates as quickly and efficiently as possible. The kiosks utilized at Alaska Airlines makes for a shorter wait time in lines to check-in baggage. Passengers will be able to check in their luggage and just hand it to a customer service representative at the drop off luggage area and be on their way to their gate. It also allow travelers with disabilities to have the same convenience and time savings from using kiosk check-in the same way as other travelers. Measures that include processes to insure baggage is delivered within that guaranteed timeframe of twenty minutes. Preparation prior to the airplane arriving as well as the crew understanding their role and executing the process all with a time sensitive measure will result in a positive outcome.
