Today I will be talking about agricultural service technicians and how they get to become one, what classes they have to take in high school and collage, what they do, where they do it, and how they do it. I believe this job is a great job because it is a well paying job, I like to have a job where I can use my hands, and the last reason is I could do this the rest of my life.
The technicians work environment is in a large noisy shop. They usually are lifting heavy tools and part (BLS). They often have to lie or stand in difficult and awkward positions (BLS). Technicians sometimes often have to make service calls because it is often to much money to haul the equipment. A service call is when the technicians go out on the farm or job site and fix what is broken. A lot of technicians work six or seven 12hour days there is a lot of overtime required in this field of work nights and weekends (BLS).
Most agricultural service technician’s work on everything from tractors to cranes, and cars to dump trucks. They repair small and big engines, hydraulic system, transmitions, and electrical systems in vehicles (BLS). Most of the modern vehicles all have a thing called a computer. This computer pretty much runs the car or tractor it tells it how fast you can go how much gas your car can have and lets you know if something is wrong with your car or tractor (BLS). The computer turns all the lights on the dash on if there is something wrong with the engine the check engine light will come on ext (BLS). the only way to tell what is wrong with the vehicle that has a computer is to use a diagnostic computer. More then likely it is a wiring problem. The older cars never had computers in them so the technicians had to know what they are doing...

In conclusion I think this would be the greatest job ever. I like working with tools, in shops, out in the field, and on heavy equipment. It pays pretty good, jobs are becoming easier to get because there is more equipment being built. All of the classes required for this job are fairly easy.
