Gap year is a period of time that high school students do not study before go to college. Students will obtain life skills and learn different culture through this time; meanwhile, they may contribute to the local place.
Gap Year usually involves:
 Travel - travel in the home country or foreign countries to enlarge the outlook.
 Adventure - join an ethical adventure trail with like-minded people.
 Volunteering -
 Intern
 Work abroad
The reason why student choose one year off instead of preparing for the university is that they think work experience is more important. In addition, they also work to save money for their college life.
Advantages of gap year:

a) Make your resume substantial:
Valuable new skills will be gathered from a gap year, which will give the person competitive edge for jobs and impressed the employer. Cultural awareness, organization, and an ability to work independently are just some of the skills that are gained by taking a year out.
b) Meet new people:
Taking a gap year enables us to make new friends and interact with people from all walks of life, which is a good opportunity for us to learn others’ merit. Thus, we will improve ourselves by communicating with new people.
c) Great way to learn:
A gap year will offer you with much more than any classroom knowledge. We can learn a lot in the classroom, but we rarely put them into practice. A gap year equips us with the ability to explore new thing and get more work/life experiences. We will also learn a lot more about ourselves and who we are as people.
Disadvantages of gap year:
a) Waste one year: This is a tough problem. Your friends have already entered the college and start their new life, while you are left behind for one year.
