Even though People think that AI could help sustain the human population in such a way that the way we live life changes to only leisure and pleasure and no labor of work, people also believe that AI could change life for the worst, ruin the economy and eventually destroy the human race. AI could be useful for the world's population, if made correctly, by benefiting it in many major ways, but AI could also increase the unemployment rate and or overrun its original programming by becoming strong AI. AI could upgrade itself and become more intelligent than the humans that created it. This would allow AI to think for itself learn things that take humans many years in a matter of minutes. …show more content…

This is AI that is able to function and complete many different tasks, all with the same programming. It will learn from watching or doing research on the internet like we do today, the only difference is that strong AI will be able to learn much quicker then we can it could read millions of papers online about a specific topic in just a few hours. AI will be able to do anything we can do just faster and then after it can do that it will try to make itself faster and find different ways to complete a task that is easier or a way that takes less time. Now that creates a new topic of argument if AI starts trying to find better ways to complete a task we have to make sure our morals and values are the same as the AI’s morals and values. If we have a self-driving car and we tell it to get us to the hospital as fast as possible, we want it to understand that we mean the quickest route with the least amount of traffic and stop lights, not that we actually mean get us there going as fast as you possibly can, because that would be very unsafe and against the …show more content…

They could help regulate crime and fight natural disasters, while doing physically intense jobs without ever getting tired. There is also a big possibility that we are heading in a very bad place if we do not do proper research. If we do not prepare through many trials and experts debating on what we should do next, we could think we are opening a can of worms when we are actually opening a can of snakes that will bite us as soon as they are free. If we develop strong AI that can think and problem solve by itself we could possibly be creating something that would take our spot at the top of the food chain, not because they will kill us and eat us but because they would treat us like we treat animals by cadging us and keeping us as pets or exterminating some of the population to make room for whatever they want to do with the world because we would be turning over control to a computer.
