Two contributing factors to adult obesity are imbalanced nutrition more than body requirements and decreased or the lack of daily physical activity (Treas & Wilkinson, 2014). With individuals taking in more food than the body requires and decreasing daily physical activity the body will store the unused food as fat. Unbalanced diets and large portion sizes can contribute to this. A lot of individuals who live different lifestyles are guilty of eating foods that are convenient instead of what is healthy. I am also guilty of these food choices at times. Being obese can contribute to chronic diseases that can decrease an individual's health causing other underlying illnesses.
