Adolescent family violence has implications in both of these fields. Nevertheless, it has been the topic of some research.

It is also a violence used by young people against family members. Most frequently, it refers to violence occurring within the household.

The juvenile requires continuous care even when violent, which mean responses used in different cases of family violence can’t readily be applied. It has a damaging impact on the health and well-being of families, and is surrounded by stigma and shame.

Pope Francis(2015) warned of the many dangers to Filipino families, including “natural, economic and destructive lifestyles” that threaten their integrity and break up the basic unit of society.

This implies a stable home environment, tied down by a loving couple, is key for children to thrive in school and in life. When the home environment is unstable and parents fight in the presence of their kids, children often think it is their fault and are traumatized. They worry that their parents will not remain together and suffer emotionally. This has an impact to their psychological well-being adversely, takes a significant damage on their development and shows up as bad behavior and poor outcomes in school.

According to the retired Principal, Mrs Jenny Yeo(2015), When children are in an emotional turmoil, they are unable to concentrate and learn. Instead, they will either ‘act up’ and become aggressive or withdraw.
