When it comes to learning, everyone wants to gain knowledge in the most efficient way. If you have ever worked as a teacher or even been a student in classroom, you likely know not everyone learns in exactly the same manner. Maybe you have encountered a friend trying to explain a concept to you, and it just does not click, but later someone shows you the concept in a different way, and it makes sense right away. Whether you are an official student in school or you are simply a life-long learner in the school of life, not everyone learns in exactly the same way, and discovering your learning style will help you get the best results.

Those with a logical-mathematical learning style are good with numbers as well as figuring out things logically. They can recognize patterns and like to work through problems in a step-by-step matter.

If you have a logical-mathematical learning style, you can often learn key information by creating a list. This type of learner often works well with bullet points, which illustrate the key facts. Sometimes it is also helpful for them to be able to check things off a list as they learn the concept or as they complete tasks. They also may enjoy puzzles and games that require logical thinking, including Sudoku, chess, and Solitaire-like card games.

Intrapersonal

Those with an intrapersonal learning style work best when given time to work alone. This means they do not get as much out of the learning process when working or studying in a group. They often need time by themselves to think and reflect. This does not mean the intrapersonal learner is antisocial or does not like being around people. Group projects and study groups can help this type of learner achieve their learning potential. If you are an interpersonal learner, you may want to explain concepts to others, both friends and family members, particularly if you are unable to study with a study group. Explaining concepts, particularly difficult concepts, can help make concepts clearer.

Linguistic

If you are good with words and possess a large vocabulary, you are probably high in linguistic learning skills. This sort of learner is good at communicating. They often learn by reading, writing, and explaining concepts to others. They might also benefit from rewriting notes, particularly when reviewing difficult concepts. They often enjoy word puzzles and games, including cross word puzzles, word searches, and games such as Scrabble.

Because the actual words are such an important part of a linguist learner’s learning process, flashcards for vocabulary terms or for important concepts can help a linguist learner remember important terms and facts.
