In my opinion, if my president wasn’t even a citizen of my country, that person should be ashamed. The president is a public figure for a country and shouldn’t deceive people just to have power. The president is the main portrayer in what the world looks to see what a country is like. Though Venezuela has political issues, Venezuela should take care of their people and give them food and supply to help.This article ties in with the absolutism unit because just like many rulers, they were obsessed with power and don’t think about their people.

Absolutism is defined as a form of government where the monarch rules their land freely without legal opposition. In modern times, when democracy is the ideal, this form of government seems cruel and tyrannical; however, there was an era when it thrived in European politics. Obviously, his original love of equality has faded if he is allowed to do the persecution of two very populous groups in Latin America, the Blacks and the Indians. And last, a passage from the diary of Louis Peru de la Croix suggests that Simon Bolivar was "not always tolerant." If Bolivar was intolerant, he wouldn’t have supported free speech, which again goes against his previous support of Enlightenment thinkers and of the French Revolution.

He exercised absolute paternal rights of a father on France and his powers were unlimited by church, legislature, or elites. Calling himself the "Sun King" after the God Apollo, he worked to banish feudalism and create a unified state under his absolute power. To illustrate this power he built the Palace at Versailles and created an elaborate, theatrical royal lifestyle. His reign of 72 years, from 1638 to 1715, it is the longest documented reign of any European monarch. To establish absolutism in France Louis XIV used divers strategies including the centralization of the French state, diminishing the nobles' power and oppressing the third estate.

Some of the leaders who were involved in the Venezuela’s fight for independence were Simon Bolivar, Francisco de Miranda and Antonio José de Sucre.
