Abolish Fishing Research Paper

I believe that fishing is not cruel and it shouldn’t be abolished in any way. Fishing is a peaceful way for some people to even calm their self down. Fishing calms me down, and even gives me something to do for a couple hours. Fishing is even actually considered a sport in some states. States hold fishing competitions, but they are not allowed to eat the fish they catch. I enjoy eating fish but only a certain type of fish.

My position on this is that, nobody should be able to abolish such a fun sport and even a fun family thing to do. It teaches you patience, and even how to be skilled in holding a fish. In the sense fish cannot even feel the pain when they are caught, I feel as if fish were put here to be caught and even be ate by humans. It has been proven that most fish that are caught, if they are bleeding, then they will die, but if they do not bleed only about one-third of fish will die, after being released.

Just think about it like this, there are actually some people around the world, that live off of fish. For example, there are men that go out in Alaska, and other freezing cold places, to fish. They go in a little cabin type thing, and they have a fishing hole that they fish out of, practically all day. The time they are there, they live off of those fish they catch and eat. Then there is the coastal areas, there are people there that live off of fish all the time. They make fish salads, fish tacos, grilled fish, baked fish, and even fried fish. It’s the simple fact that some people live off of fish. So no, we shouldn’t abolish fishing, because that could result in people in parts of the world, starving.
