Repay your love and friendship
Chinese literature, for example, ancient poetry, lyrics, and traditional Chinese stories, reveals many different kinds of good personalities of people. According to a famous ancient Chinese philosopher, Confucius (¿××Ó), men are born to be kind (ÈËÖ®³õ©o ÐÔ±¾ÉÆ). Everyone has his or her own good qualities and sometimes they are just hidden and needed to be explored and discovered.
In traditional China, people had a strong sense of repayment (ˆó´ð). People who do not have this ability to repay others who have helped them before are usually being looked down on. The sense of repayment is perhaps a product of a good friendship or love. And the boundary of love here in this case, is not only about the love between couples but all different kinds of love also, for instance, the love between family members. Therefore, repayment is in fact tied in with the theme of filial piety. People¡¯s devotion to and their respect for their parents or elders are actually a form of repayment.
In the story, ¡°The Courtesan Li Wa,¡± Li Wa is surely very respectful to her ¡°mother¡± though she is not her real mother who gives birth to Li Wa. While Li Wa and the young man are taking a rest at Li Wa¡¯s aunt¡®s place, she gets a message that her mother is ill, suffering very badly and cannot even recognize the people in the house. Li Wa, without a doubt, decides to go back immediately to see her mother without even considering the young man. Though I have to say that I personally doubt that this is in fact a proper and an appropriate way to handle this situation, Li Wa has certainly shown her respect and devotion to her so-called ¡°mother¡±.
A while later in the story, the young man fails to find Li Wa and her aunt. He has been roaming about and at some point close to death due to illness. He ends up being employed by the mortuaries to sing. On one occasion, the young man¡¯s father happens to be there and an old servant recognizes the young man. His father takes him out of there, stripped him, flogs him with a horse whip several hundred times and leaves him for dead. The young man does not end up in death because the youth¡¯s music instructor sends someone to keep and eye on him. At this point of the story, the young man¡¯s relationship with his father has already broken and the young man¡¯s father even thinks that his son is beaten to death by himse...

... Kuo goes to visit them. Here at this point in the story, Kuo repays Wu for all he has done to rescue himself back in the days when Kuo is captured by the barbarians. He carries Wu¡¯s and his wife¡¯s bones back to their native place along with their son Wu T¡¯ien-yu and on the road he once says, ¡°Yung-ku (Wu Pao-an¡¯s style name) labored for ten years for my sake. Carrying his bones for a little while is the least gesture I can make to show my gratitude.¡± After they arrive, Kuo shows his respect for Wu as if Wu is his father and does what a son would do when his father dies and ¡°every detail of the burial arrangements is the same as when he has buried his father.¡± Kuo treats his benefactor as if he is his father. Here it reveals that a true friendship tie in with filial piety. Kuo also offers Wu T¡¯ien-yu his own post as a further repayment to his ¡°father¡±.
The story ¡°Wu Pao-an Ransoms His Friend¡± discloses the connection between friendship, repayment, and filial piety. Between people with high quality of humanity, there is a genuine friendship which acts as a bond. And this bond leads to repayment when there are favors to be repaid. A form of repayment is being filial.
As a student, practice is crucial to learn group therapy techniques. In order to achieve these practices, I attended 2 support groups of the same topic. Observation and attendance constructs an idea of how group therapy works. Attending this group was important because of the profoundness of its meaning and experiences I have witnessed.
The brothel boy is the main suspect when a local 12 year old girl is raped. The victim is found naked with a head wound being held by the brothel boy after a group of farmers hear a scream coming from the river. Since he was the only one there the villagers assumed he was the perpetrator. So they formed a mob and tried to get people’s justice by almost beating him to death. This small village is located in Burma before modern times. Many believe that the brothel boy committed this assault because he has worked in the brothel all his life, seeing the acts, and is very undereducated. The bitter cold bit against the starved girl’s skeletal body. She was tired. Her parents discussed ways to get to good lands. They told her the only way to have a better life was to sell her into slavery. The girl, only ten years old was silent. She dreamed of fine clothing and good food. The girl went to the House of Hwang. She was too ugly to be in sight; she was kept in the scullery. All dreams of any kind were lashed out of her young mind. Mistreated, beaten, and underestimated, young O-lan learned to work hard and became resigned to her fate. One day, the Old Mistress summoned her and told her that she was to be married to a poor farmer. The other slaves scoffed, but O-lan was grateful for a chance to be free - they married. O-lan vowed to return to the great house one day in fine clothing with a son. Her resolve was strong; no one could say otherwise. Her years of abuse as a slave had made O-lan wise, stoic, and bitter; whether the events of her life strengthened or weakened her is the question.
After war Daru had requested to be transferred to a small town, where the silence of the town echoes in the schoolhouse; and it was hard on him. Now that he has company the same silence still muter the house. He thought about war and how he fought next to other men, whom he got to know and to love. In conclusion, Wu made us remember how important our grandparents no matter how different are we from each other. Also, I learned a lot from my grandparents, and some of things that I learned are that we should treat others with good manners and secondly, we shouldn’t blame others for things that we are uncertain they did it. What I learned from my grandfather made me owe both of my grandparents a lot. And off course one of the things that I and Wu share is that we miss our grandparents a lot and we hope to see them as soon as possible in the

The recollection of the ancestors, the fear of offending them or soiling their reputations, coupled with the desire to please them, are sources of inspiration, which guide the actions of the descendants. Even for a hardened sinner, to lack respect for the ancestors is the worst offense imaginable. Here is how the intimate thought of the master should be interpreted. Respectful of tradition and of rituals, he did not wish to explain himself fully on this subject. But such should be his thought. The cult of the dead is, in his eyes, the cult of memory, based upon filial piety and the thought of the continuity of the family and of the race. It is in this spirit that still being practiced by the majority of the Oriental world, for whom it is the main religion and takes the place of all preaching revealed or supernatural.
Confucius is known for stressing that human nature is intrinsically good. He stresses that human beings are born with the ability for differentiating between wrong and right. A person may not be aware from infancy which acts are tolerable and which acts are not, but all offspring feel shame, and once the children learn which deeds are bad or good, they have a normal tendency to consent of the former and criticize of the latter (Van and Bryan 27).
Characterization is key in establishing the theme of Waiting for Godot. Vladimir and Estragon seem to have two modes of existence: together and by themselves. One critic observes, "As members of a cross-talk act, Vladimir and Estragon have complementary personalities" (Esslin 29).
PO identified the top three roadblocks to communication: “Criticizing, advising, and reassure”. PO demonstrated an understanding of the topic by giving examples of how to use ‘I statement’ to express feelings and thoughts. PO completed the weekly treatment report, and provided documentation of two support meetings attended this past week. PO was attentive and actively engaged during group, appears to have a positive response to treatment.
The purpose of human life is a challenging question to answer. It appears no viable to find the answer since people do not understand who to ask or where to search it. Existence appears to be a thing inflicted on human being by an unknown force. Moreover, there is no evident meaning to it, but certainly humans suffer because of it, and the world appears totally chaotic. As a result, people attempt to inflict meaning on it through fictional and pattern purposes to distract themselves from the point that their condition is desperately profound. In the play Waiting for Godot, Samuel Beckett uses the motif of habit as a way to portray the two characters, Estragon and Vladimir as unnatural while they wait, as well as a forum to show a dependency upon habit thus presenting addictions as part of human nature.
For many centuries, Confucianism has been widely revered by the Chinese for its emphasis on morality. Confucius, who lived from 551 to 479 BCE, is different to most philosophers in that he showed no interest questioning his existence, the possibility of a God, or the reality that he seemed to live in; instead he focused on the human relations side of philosophy as it was his belief that people should “give (themselves) earnestly to the duties due to men … (and) keep aloof from (spiritual beings)” (Confucius 195). By negating the metaphysical side of philosophy, he was able to devote himself to mold his disciples into ideal gentleman who were morally righteous, and were able to benefit society. He believed in the importance of individuals who knew their roles in an well-structured society, that was a feudal system. In his opinion, the ideal gentleman should be obedient to his elders, have humanness and be morally righteous. Through his teachings, he was able to reform an entire country; the Chinese found Confucianism to embody practices of humaneness that they could apply in their daily lives through his religion.
