For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition.” This quote by Martha Washington helps explain that she had a life that may have been full of disappointment and may have been insane at time time yet she would always find a positive way to look at the situation because she knew that she was also a role model like her husband before her. The country we know today is partly responsible because of the role Martha Washington played in her husband’s life. She had courage in the face of fear and leadership despite being a woman.

While the American Revolution went on Martha had notice that she would have to be spending a lot more time alone without any help to care for the children. As she went on she had started to develop two big qualities that would always be with her as long as she lived, Courage and leadership. This got others involved especially other women because all the men were fighting and having a great life while the women were stayed back doing housework and taking care of the children and hoping their husbands will return safely back from war is hard to do. So when Martha did this great movement she inspired women and became a leader to them and a lot of others to, just a simple act like this turned Martha Washington into a great lady and a great person overall. But as everyone starts to look up to her and would start to focus more on her she would have been starting to make decisions that will affect how her and many others go on in their life.
