It happened in a matter of seconds. Immediately, I felt my legs start to become weak, trembling with each step I took. Then, my speech became affected; I could no longer speak even the simplest words, they were more jumbled than a crossword puzzle. Soon after, my right side of my body fell victim to it also when I noticed my leg and arm were senseless and asleep. I couldn’t understand it, what was happening to me? When I got rushed to the hospital, the frigid air in the hospital only made my fears grow and my mind to spiral out of control. Because I needed to receive my test results, I stayed overnight at the hospital. The next few days would prove to be the longest days I had ever experienced. After two grueling days, my fears became reality. The doctors told me that I had a stroke. …show more content…

All day and night, I went through several medical tests to see why I had on a stroke. As much as I wanted to know the reason, the doctors couldn’t find one either. Besides everything that experienced at the hospital, the most important part of it all was that I had regained feeling on my right side of my body and was ready to leave the hospital. My eyes lit up as bright as stars in a night sky when I heard that I could leave the hospital in a couple of days. Not like the hospital wasn't relaxing or anything, but I was ready to return to my normal life. Even though I contracted a stomach bug at the hospital and was sick of being entrapped there, I appreciate all the care the doctors and nurses gave me during those hard times. I had yet experienced the toughest part of having a stroke, which was the physical and occupational therapy that I needed.
