Tell a story from your life, describing an experience that either demonstrates your character or helped to shape it. A personal experience that helped shape my life is when I was 12 years old. I was playing a baseball game in enumclaw and I was the starting pitcher. That game I pitched a complete game and hit back to back homeruns. After I hit the back to back homeruns I got caught up in the moment and in the dug out my teammates and I were excited and I yelled “I'm Like Barry Bonds without steroids.” The parents in the stands heard me and from that point on I was tagged as the “Cocky” kid. Barry Bonds holds the record for most all time home runs and most homeruns in a season. It is very impressive but after investigation he was on steroids
For many years now, my biggest influencer has been Roberto Clemente, who played Major League Baseball in the 60’s and 70’s. Roberto Walker Clemente was born the youngest of seven children to Melchor and Luisa Clemente in Puerto Rico on August 18, 1934. Although growing up poor in Barrio San Anton in Carolina, he was happy and remained very close to his family and to his country and its inhabitants throughout his entire life. Roberto was an industrious young man and worked various odd jobs including milk delivery. He began playing baseball with his brothers and friends and was eventually signed for forty dollars a month by a professional hardball team in the Puerto Rican town of Santurce. His natural ability got him recognized by a Dodger scout and he was signed in 1954 to a minor league team in Montreal. His
A person does not experience many events that shape their life in a large way, whether it be for better or worse. I have had just one major situation that has sculpted me into the person that I am today. In February of 2008, I was diagnosed with a life changing disease; it would relieve me of the agony I had been experiencing for as long as I could remember, but also restrict my diet for the rest of my life.
Is there anything that you have overcome, something that made you change, something that made you a survivor? Many people have been seen as heroes, Ghandi and Martin Luther King Jr. are just a few examples of them. However, the true heroes are those who rose up from their own hardships and became true survivors. Elie Wiesel, Paul Rusesabagina, and John F Kennedy Are seen as genuine survivors. Elie had endured through a concentration camps whose sole aim was to kill people who were of the same religion as him, Paul Rusesabagina had hid 1000 people in his hotel to protect them from being killed, and John F Kennedy had strived to save his crew from a Japanese freighter

Right when I realized it is important for me to not just play for fun, I started to play less video games, and do more Baseball practices. My dad would always tell me it’s not good to play video games, because they cannot help you, but baseball can help you succeed in life. This really changed my view on what Baseball potentially has.
In my life I have played baseball with more people, played in more states, and played on more fields than there are minutes in a day. That’s a lot of baseball. This sport means more than just playing a game. Throughout this sport I have had to perform in tough situations and I have had to come up clutch in key situations. I have had to pick everyone’s head up and become the leader when we needed it and more than anything I have had to watch my team and self fail. Baseball is more than just hitting a ball with a bat and outscoring the other team. This sport makes you learn key life skills such as teamwork, failure and success, confidence, performing in clutch situation, and most of all taught me to always keep my head up.
For the purpose of this paper I will be describing a personal life experience and I will be applying concepts from the texts to best describe the event. I was born here in the United States (US) but, I was raised in the Dominican Republic (DR). I lived in the DR basically my entire life, I would only come to the US for vacation during summer. Although I am only sixteen years old and in the eleventh grade of high school, many things have influenced me and caused me to be the person that I am today. I hope that these things will continue to help me be a better person and influence me as my life continues. Some of the things that have influenced me have been church, my family, my friends, and school.
Upon reading the essay prompt, I took a few moments to introspect. I thought back to every experience that helped mold me into the person I am today. As human beings, we are influenced by many aspects of our surroundings. Even as children, we develop certain attributes through observation, or through conditioning by our parents. These attributes may not be always positive, but the combination of both positive and negative qualities form the people we are today. No one is perfect; nevertheless, some are fortunate enough to have their strengths outweigh their weaknesses. I believe I am one of those lucky people.
“An Event Which Changed My Life” An Event which changed my life, well when, I think back on my life there’s Many changes for the good and some were bad but, there were some learning experiences that help make me a better person. I do not think that everyone fits in one hundred percent of the time. I think there are times that we all feel out of the loop, and there are times when we feel like we do not belong. Whether we like it or not, those moments can change us and shape us. I have had times like this in my life too. One of these instances that is still affecting me to this very day has become even more prevalent in the past few months. This experience I am having has changed the way I think, act, and feel about the world surrounding me.

There were many instances in my life that have shaped my values, intellect, and academic or career goals. I was raised by my parents to become a hard worker, independent, and caring young adult. I was taught how to be all these qualities by a combination of experiencing and witnessing them first hand.
